  1. a good example of a well maintained tree, in a well maintained enviroment, with a species that responds well to its management imo its the right management for the right species considering its enviroment and owners needs cant keep on felling and replanting!
  2. whats youre opinion on how far down the cuts should go monkeyd? i try to aim for 6 ft of artificial fractures to try and avoid the bart simpson look which seems to be common round here!
  3. had the money-£100 biggest tip, and jam, and a 1st edition book called the highfield mole, double signed and dated, selling on amazon atm for £500-1150.00 but the best by far was last year, a 3 day job, really nice family-bacon butties, tea, hot daughter to flirt with ect, on the last day, the daughter came out as father was working, saying "dad told me to give this to you" gave us each a £20, thought nothing of it, went to buy some beers on way back to yard, pulled the note out my pocket-she had written her phone number, with a cute little message on it! still got it somewhere!
  4. people fat people-they take up too much room in shops people who tell you things for no apparant reason, that you really diddnt want to or need to know lazy people people who ask stupid questions people in general
  5. FFS 35 hours=a week off work, no doubt paying £100 - £200 per day for the training its the DVLA targeting those who will HAVE to do it to keep their lively hood, much like the police only targeting the law abiding looking like NZ, Aus, or USA will be having one more resident sooner than expected at this rate
  6. why not look at building youre own? or getting someone to build you one? i know theocus on here is doing just that (building it himself) with a small hiab off ebay to start with if it were me, id buy an appropiate trailer first off (you can use the trailer whilst you look for other bits) then the hiab/crane, all 2nd hand/ebay, collect some scrap metal, and build it myself, or if welding aint youre thing, hire a mobile one for the day, much more satisfying building/desinging youre own stuff let us know what ever way you go

  11. dont see anything wrong with it, i'll do the same, but step cut, move down, cut 1/4 into the next, push top off, then finish the one i started, only when using 660 or above though old matey should think about changing bars though, whats the point having one so small???
  12. tell us more!! what v8s in it?
  13. theres two on the farmers weekly website-one at 3500
  14. swings and roundabouts, with deans view, yes you are being payed to stay on site, so more money from the client as ringing up takes time, or with a crane/similar, you can put the same price in or slightly cheaper-so more chance of getting the job in the first place, do the job twice as quick (or a heck of a lot quicker) with less mess, and go and do another job, earning more moolah, instead of raking tonns of sawdust! then either sell the wood, or wait untill youre quiet to ring it up at youre yard, where you dont need to worry about the time involved in clearing up sawdust as an example couple of weeks ago, went off to take down an oak and HC growing side by side, an other company put in £2700 (no hiab) i arrived on site, with two groundies, 7.5tonn chip lorry, 18 tonn timber lorry, at 7.45am (a bit late!) had it all down, chipped up, loaded on, cleared up, ready to leave site at 10.50am
  15. thats edf clearing their new invisible eleccy lines
  16. targets-road, bustop, path, bloke with a camera. . . management-fell and replant
  17. yeah it is arbor-ecologys, very nice it is too, will be buying lots of lottery tickets this week-advertised for sale! yeah, saw bits of the climbing comp-7 colleges taking part i think oh and SWB, i diddnt see hucks waggon there, so no need to go into a wee scottish huff
  18. look at/ pm garthmcgarth's profile as hes done this to a couple of hiluxes-they look smart!
  19. yes it is ac prices new unit-the green one tipping, something like 90 grand steve knows exactly what it was was something to do with the round timber club, at the Merrist wood summer show-there was around about 15 mogs there-some with HUGE chippers, cranes, winches, sawmills, double cab ones, one had a cherry picker/chipper/chip box combo! gonna start saving for that 2150 with 14m palfinger crane there were also matadors, axemen displays, climbing comps, hot rods, american classics, wall of death motorbikes . . .
  20. a few pics from today and my favorite!
  21. own hiab with timber grab, if the timbers too far away stick a chain on it and drag it out!
  22. apparantly i suffer from a form of dyslexia (had the tests) although i dont really notice it, im no retard (my opinion others may not agree) and im not dumb, but am daft! for me school was looking through rose tinted glasses (literally, i had rose tinted glasses as black on white text constantly goes out of focus or wobbles) the glasses have gone (so not cool) but the black on white problem still persists and if something doesnt intrest me, boy is it hard for me to concentrate-i mean its really really hard-most people wouldnt imagine how difficult concentrating can be, even now people dont realise how incredibly boring they, and some things can be-and just how tollerant im being (although sometimes i just cant be arsed with being as tolerant as i should) my advise to a tutor is to make things as intresting as possible-if doing a lecture on saw safety for example, stick some gorey images of injuries in-it'll focus the mind on the subject for a few minuites, have a laugh, regular breaks (10 min an hour pref) and this may be a bit controversial but swear! swearing emphasises things even writing this, a subject i am intrested in i noticed about 1/3 my time was looking out the window, at pictures on the wall, blah blah blah!
