    my dad had a circular bench saw that would be even better as it has a rail(?) you can adjust on one side of the blade to do just that, might see if he still uses it. cheers mate!

  7. tell him the lighter the better-seasoned wood is lighter than wet green wood, logs should be sold by volume for this reason

    i want to make lengths of 2x2 2x4 4x4 ect do i need the mini mill to do this? im guessing for 2x2 i mill off the planks to 2" with the normal alaskan, then mini mill off 2" strips?cheers, josh

  10. pictures for Apbell landy as it stands today, in summary in the past 500miles, most in past few weeks, its had new heavy duty suspension all round-springs, shocks, bushes, shock mounts 'a' frame ball joint. new rear axle, rear diff, front and rear drive flanges, radiator, water pump, steering joints, hub seal, rear inner crossmember, 2 outriggers, drivers footwell, few more bits of welding done, new door catch mechanisms, doors close firmly, new seats, and a load of little bits and pieces drives A1 now 12 months mot, 6 tax tyres and chipbox (got the metal) are next on the list i was thinking of selling, but changing my mind now as it drives lovely, then again, everything has a price

STS is correct, a pre 97 licence holder can in theory be done for driving a car with a tow bar plated over 750kg as has the potential to exceed their licence's towing capabilities. stevie, to be legal, you need to find out what youre van is legally capable of towing, the trailer must then be plated for no more than that weight, otherwise you have the 'potential' to exceed the vans towing capablities. i THINK im right in saying most trailers are built to 3.5T, but the the plate is downgraded to suit the towing vehicles legal towing capabilities, typicaly around 2.7T (only vehicles with permanant all wheel drive, e.g some landrovers are rated to tow the full 3.5t) all a load of British Standard really

  24. nice one mate, what sort of weight are those little ones? what will they pull? i grew up near garrets of leiston, theyve got a few of those big steam engines, remember seeing 2 working opposite ends of a field, a big pully/winch in the middle of one, pulling a plough up and down the field, seriously skillfull engeneering there!
