  1. Pruned an ash today 2 up, 2 rigging systems, myself and the logbullet on the ground
  2. Fitted a new grinding wheel to the bandit, the old one had elongated a few of its pocket thread holes making tightening the pockets an arse -the rocks here give the grinder a hard life. took the opportunity whilst the backing plate was off to fit the updated belt tensioner and beef up the backing plate mount too. Just a full service to do now
  3. Agreed Day rate would mean paying for the 4 days Mark, asking for day price, multiplying it by the estimated time - 3 days, and locking the price is now a fixed price.
  4. Why’s the whole day written off? surely getting it stuck and realizing it was stuck wasn’t more than an hour, could they not have done something on rope and harness? should still be 6-7 invoiceable hours. Machine recovery is unfortunately your problem
  5. What about from another EU country? Should just be a case of new plates should it not?
  6. Agree with you there, Pricing from pictures is when Estimates are given rather than Quotes, make it clear that you can’t be 100% accurate from pictures. sometimes you can be pleasantly surprised, other times the customer is quite understanding if you inform them before cutting that the price was off. ive been very lucky so far for major cock ups, my skin has been saved by alternative ways of working or getting big kit in which worked out surprisingly cheap- an oak to monolith over new sewage system, garage, fence and lamp I’d priced for a day for 2, 1 load, would have been 2 days for 3 and 3 loads, canceled, rebooked and got a grip saw in, done in 3 hours, the lorrys 30m3 bin filled (I was mincing everything down with a saw!) and made a profit. felled 40 odd aspens, don’t know what I was thinking waste wise, priced for 60m3, well over 150m3. Managed to get a biomas chipper in and tipp at a mates farm, broke even.
  7. The little one with a new engine probably getting on for 3,5-4k, the 2150 10k? +vat A 2150 4x4 with 38hp petrol was for sale for 9k +vat recently in denmark, not sure of hours but looked clean What have you been offered trade in?
  8. Not mine, far from it, but I know there’s some RB fans here
  9. Are you needing help on what vehicle to get? or what tipper manufacture? or just the chipbox layout/style? Easiest and cheapest is to buy a vehicle with a tipper fitted, high sides are easy enough for most fabricators to knock up as too the toolbox.
  10. More logbullet work, felled about 25 dead spruce, 5 pines, stems out front, branches in a bonfire heap. amazingly little damage to the ground considering it was wet yesterday
  11. Yeah i am! I'm probablly using it once a week on average (although next week its out 3 days) Should have got one sooner, fits my buisness, and the way jobs are done here perfectly. Need to make some bolsters for its trailer though
  12. Seem to only be posting logbullet pictures but I guess that’s what I find interesting/fun at the moment whilst it’s new! a good customer rang on Wednesday needing help sharpish with one tree (!) and some regrowth, diggers coming on Monday to build a new paddel court, looked at the job Thursday and due to me messing up car service dates could do it today, had I more time I’d have done just one pile and a bit tidier
  13. You are bidding for a Husqvarna 371XP portable forestry Winch/Chainsaw Sold as shown. Ref. WWW.BIDSPOTTER.CO.UK Bid Live on Lot 249 in the May Online Auction Direct from UK Government Departments, Ex MoD, Fire &... up at 700 now, reserve not met
  14. if the bidding continues, I guess it won’t be cheap any longer? And there’s no way of judging it’s performance from pictures, looking good could suggest low usage on such a machine so possibly on the better end of the scale?
  15. You realise it’s an auction?
  16. Gut the place, get rid of all clutter, go for a proper minimalist look, no personal artifacts. clean the windows inside and out
  17. Thanks, i assumed it'd be 30% of the load. Not really fine morally though, should an accident occur, but i guess thats not the point.
  18. Interested to know how 4550kg is fine?
  19. Earlier in the year i looked at importing a trailer from the uk, to Sweden. Should be the same rules. Accountant advised against collecting myself, as there'd be a high risk of getting stuck in customs, aggro of having, leaving and collecting the correct forms, sending copies of the declaration to the seller etc. Better to leave it to the bigger hauliers who do it all daily. (who hiked their prices up outrageously earlier in the year) Make sure they do the import and custom declarations though. The tarrif you pay depends on the item, (if any tarrif) and as i understand, its no responsibility of the seller. Now the dust has settled, its probabally a good idea to contact a haulier and ask them for advice and costs.
  20. Tidying up some storm/fire damage
  21. Because the powers that be have actually used a bit of common sense and the realized that an electric commercial vehicle with a gvw of 3500kg loaded with batteries will leave sweet FA load capacity rendering the (eco green save the planet make Greta wet) vehicle useless, no one would buy them. Give them the same load capacity as their diesel/petrol variants and it makes them more viable do a relatively simple extra test and bobs yer uncle bit like here (Sweden, not sure about UK) there’s an extended B license test (b96). a quick theory test lifts the combined limit of 3500kg (for a heavier than 750kg trailer) to 4250 Combined
  22. Something bit different, put up some chestnut pailing around our pond. local mothers happy, newts, frogs n toads too. Kids not so
  23. I’m really happy with mine!
