  1. You realise it’s an auction?
  2. Gut the place, get rid of all clutter, go for a proper minimalist look, no personal artifacts. clean the windows inside and out
  3. Thanks, i assumed it'd be 30% of the load. Not really fine morally though, should an accident occur, but i guess thats not the point.
  4. Interested to know how 4550kg is fine?
  5. Earlier in the year i looked at importing a trailer from the uk, to Sweden. Should be the same rules. Accountant advised against collecting myself, as there'd be a high risk of getting stuck in customs, aggro of having, leaving and collecting the correct forms, sending copies of the declaration to the seller etc. Better to leave it to the bigger hauliers who do it all daily. (who hiked their prices up outrageously earlier in the year) Make sure they do the import and custom declarations though. The tarrif you pay depends on the item, (if any tarrif) and as i understand, its no responsibility of the seller. Now the dust has settled, its probabally a good idea to contact a haulier and ask them for advice and costs.
  6. Tidying up some storm/fire damage
  7. Because the powers that be have actually used a bit of common sense and the realized that an electric commercial vehicle with a gvw of 3500kg loaded with batteries will leave sweet FA load capacity rendering the (eco green save the planet make Greta wet) vehicle useless, no one would buy them. Give them the same load capacity as their diesel/petrol variants and it makes them more viable do a relatively simple extra test and bobs yer uncle bit like here (Sweden, not sure about UK) there’s an extended B license test (b96). a quick theory test lifts the combined limit of 3500kg (for a heavier than 750kg trailer) to 4250 Combined
  8. Something bit different, put up some chestnut pailing around our pond. local mothers happy, newts, frogs n toads too. Kids not so
  9. I’m really happy with mine!
  10. Loving combining machines, the Logbullet is an awesome little helper
  11. wow! proper sized trees!
  12. How highs the back of the van? ive the older version and use a tipping trailer to transport it on. They’re quite front heavy, and can be on its balance point and nose dive if reversing up. Better to drive straight up, grinding wheel first
  13. Thanks @muttley9050 and @Ian Leach Im in Sweden, pretty much every house/shed/barn/garage is made of pine or spruce. Will shrinkage be an issue? (now seen ians reply) With regards to joints, simple and basic will be my limit 😆 When it comes to timber treatment, it'd be traditional slamfärg, a red waterbased paint traditionally using waste minerals from copper mining. Is pine suseptible to warping?
  14. I need/want to build a simple garage and pretty quickly (this summer) I want to build something like in the picture, with the idea of as and when material is available I’ll clad it in waney edge spruce, but that’s stage two and a while away. I’ve a hundred or so pines at home (standing), so this is the material available, can I build with fresh green pine? Id hope that with the good ventilation of the design that black mould would be avoided (which normally appears on firewood here with anything but perfect drying conditions!) or would I be best to send the freshly sawn material to a kiln? at a guess it’d be 12 meters long, 5 wide,Any programs to generate frame design and cutting list? Also a pic of the growth rate of pine here, just for fun
  15. I’d be giggling like a little girl “pruning” trees with that nicely done
  16. Beech stump and a little surprise the customer didn’t mention, DIY electric supply next to the stump (which cut through one of the main roots too!)
  17. That measurement takes the piss a bit! Customer trying it on how did you resolve it? Reprice it before start?
  18. I don’t think the OP has a problem with or started the thread of not wanting cash as a means of payment. more a problem with customers wanting to pay cash for effectively a 20% discount, simultaneously expecting you to be fine with breaking the law. as Pete pointed out, there’s normally a paper trail from quotation to pointing to you doing the work. Any repercussions and I’ve no doubt they’d be fine with using your insurance etc ....... for the job that “never existed”
  19. Living in a near cashless society, where its pretty common for stores not to accept cash, i normally joke it off saying its nigh on impossible to use cash these days, so no thanks most laugh and agree and no ones offended. Theres also Swish - a real time smart phone based money transaction system, to which my response is i dont have it (true) and if i did it'd be a pretty obvious paper trail, so again, sorry, no thanks
  20. Will sound like a dick, but dont mean too, but thats a lot of skill and effort gone into that topping 👍
  21. Tha pruning! that’s an amazingly tidy worksite Matty!
  22. Christ Rich! You've turned into a proper Scandi Arb now
  23. Someone did didn’t they?
  24. Pruning boots/shoes are very popular save yourself further embarrassment and keep this little learning curve to yourself
  25. Looks like standard defender panelgap to me!
