  1. Obviously not been sugar beeting. Prior to front 3 point link the topper was attached to the front loader. The sugar beet harvester attached to the rear and the depth of the harvester controlled by the trailer tipper pipe while the depth of the topper controlled by the front loader.
  2. Get a pto hydraulic pump and tank. that way you can still use your loader and tipping trailer at the same time. You could possibly put a valve on the rear 3 point link hydraulics but I think you would run out of oil capacity if you used both the loader and trailer at the same time.
  3. You could just work out how much you have spent over the last 10 years on maintenance and add to it the cost of installing gates locks etc. Divide the figure by 10 to give an annual maintenance charge which you then invoice them. Once paid you issue a key on an annual basis therefore establishing your right to receive an annual maintenance fee in return for access. Again speak to a good land agent they deal with this sort of matter on a daily basis and can handle the legal speak and stress on your behalf.
  4. If it was me I would appoint a good land agent and then install locked gates at either end of the access road and then if they think they have a case let them take you to court. I think a judge would probably rule in your favour so long as you can prove that you have spent the money in repairing the road and can quantify it and the other party was unwilling to contribute to the road. It makes a big difference that they have independent access to the site.
  5. If you have any gas pipeline contactors around they have the skill and equipment to do a proper root weld job.
  6. Is the access the only route to the site if so the courts would not allow the access to be extinguished however if it is only convenience that they use your track then you could have a case that the access had been abandoned. A good land agent should be able to sort it rather than a non specialist solicitor.
  7. Dean Register your Section 36 exemption with the environment agency and then you have an annual limit of 150 tonnes per hectare which you can level your site with. Environment Agency - Paragraph 36 exemption - spreading dredgings while your on to the EA its worth checking that you have all the other useful exemptions in place so that when planners come looking you have the EA seal of approval.

  9. Dean I thought you were installing new drainage and regrading the land at the same time to stop the flooding.
  10. All my trailers are fitted with steel floor grating including my plant trailer for 3 tonne Hitachi digger. Oldest trailer fitted 6 yrs ago with only surface rust on the steel good for at least another 6 years. http://www.fhbrundle.com/flor-sf1.htm
  11. All changed in 2006 as a result of the high court ruling. NFU backs growers after court rules polytunnels were unlawful - NFU Online
  12. Sorry but the rules have changed due to a few farmers growing acres of soft fruit under polytunnels. You now need permission for any commercial tunnel.
  13. Sounds about right. But somebody must be so hard up to supply them. Its just packaging gone mad although saying that I have just found out that wood pellets are being sold as cat litter in small 6kg bags which work out at £460.00 per tonne. The World has gone mad.
  14. Have seen them used by the coal survey people around here
  15. If you where within 25 miles of Bolton I could certainly use it but transport is the killer. I would suggest buying a cheap briquette machine (under 10k) PM me if you want any info.
  16. It does get scary in a thunderstorm especially when the tunnel is the highest object in the field
  17. Logbaron If you get this amount of sawdust on a regular basis I could set up a regular collection and turn it into briquettes . PM me with quantities if you are interested
  18. Dean I see you still not been put off yet so if your serious 3 things you must crack to be successful at growing trees. You need an automatic watering system as trees in pots will not survive without a regular water supply You must have a strong enough support to stop the trees from blowing over in the wind You must repot every 3 years by at least 5 ltr in pot size. Best of luck
  19. Thanks for the warning I had not realised the Japenese Sumac was also called the Chinese Varnish Tree. If somebody wants to photograph one I have one in my garden which I have luckily pruned in the past without injury.
  20. Says it all for me. We also had to put down our old english sheep dog Sarah Snowdrop with collapsed hips in 08. We buried here in here own raised bed and planted snowdrops which have been wonderful this year.
  21. Does it come with free trolley jack
  22. How do you extract timber when the oil runs out WCSH6.com | Portland, ME | Lombard Steam Log Hauler Goes Full Steam Ahead
  23. Dean Not to put you off but the market is flooded with cheap trees if you know where to go. Specimen trees are always in demand but you need to know what you are doing to end up with a tree which somebody will pay good money for.
  24. Skipton Auction mart this Saturday so I will keep my eyes open.
  25. Just for the sake of clarity, it's biomass (from trees) they are burning. Biofuel is made from plants and is usually a liquid fuel used in vehicles, and the like. You can also make Biofuel from trees just to confuse the situation
