  1. Its yours if you want it. I was only going to weigh it in for scrap and I would much rather it be useful to somebody else. I am just outside Bolton in Lancashire.
  2. I have a spare 35 block which used to power a compressor. I pinched the crank and pistons out of it to repair my MF 550 was going to drop it straight into the MF550 but although the rear end was the same the industrial engine had no provision for steering hydraulic pump hence swopping the crank and pistons. Was going to weigh in for scrap but really is to good for that.
  3. Need to be very careful with HMRC and farming in respect of timber operations. We have two separate operations the farm hauls in the timber and can sell as round wood or planks but then a Ltd co process the round wood into logs.
  4. Was the bonnet up when you got there. If so could have been trying to start with screwdriver and when that failed torched it. Might be worth PC plod fingerprints on bonnet as it does not seem to have caught the fury of the fire.
  5. I think you are being done by your contact for just cages you should be paying less than £20 each. IBC CAGE,LOG STORE,RUBBLE,STONE,BRICKS,CONSTRUCTION,HAYRACK,BUILDING,FARMING,PIG | eBay
  6. If you can wait 10 years my trees should be that size unless they succumb to ash die back.
  7. Remember to orientate roof for best solar output and choose box profile sheets to make installation at a later date easier.
  8. Anybody wants to have a punt its just down the road from me so not far to collect if you need a hand.
  9. Check you have no sawdust stopping the log trip linkage from working.
  10. Be interested in how the RHI stacks up. Do you intend using solar or biomass for your kiln drying.
  11. Dont have the problem if you have a MB Trac on site.
  12. Yes it is lignum vitae but it was a trick question as both the light and dark wood are from the same tree the dark being heartwood and the light being the outer.
  13. Afraid both wrong. If its any help both woods are on CITES
  14. If I told you the continent it would make it to easy. If you want a clue it is evergreen.
  15. Unfortunately no to all the above suggestions
  16. Well here is my bit of handy work to identify
  17. Majority of canadian woodland is already classified as sustainable making it easier to import rather than do the paperwork to classify UK woodland as sustainable. Long term the imports may be squeezed as the carbon miles are reduced.
  18. I think you will find it hard selling direct to the power station as there already putting in place the paperwork for compliance next year. The forms I have been filling in require my unique woodchip reg number to be entered which they verify with the sustainable suppliers register.
  19. Fourth in from the left "Purple heart" ??
  20. Applies to all RHI payments where you need to prove fuel is supplied from a supplier on the registered sustainable fuel register. There is a loophole in respect of estate self supply but again it needs to be set up with the correct paper trail which includes a sustainable woodland management plan.
  21. You will need to get accepted on the sustainable register. Its a straight forward process and took us about 5 weeks from registration to acceptance. More details of the new scheme here. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-biomass-sustainability-criteria-to-provide-certainty-for-investors-to-2027
  22. The power stations in theory can only accept chip from sustainable forests the same rules as per RHI chip making arb derived chip worthless for this market. Your then really only left with animal bedding and compost.
  23. When the price gets above £250 per tonne I will think about producing again but at the moment its a long way below that.
  24. Hence the reason my pelleting plant is mothballed.
  25. Think you will find the press was originally designed for animal feed and now trying to be used for wood pellets. Would make a good door stop or weigh it in for scrap.
