  1. Keeping out of this thread after my comments last time where ridiculed but now appear to have come home to roost. I will stay smug in the knowledge that my solar kiln comes up with the RHI goods without the need to burn my stock in the process.
  2. Thats what I have ended up doing. Cost £20 but worth every penny
  3. Already checked the bay and the shafts are to short or wrong model number.
  4. Anyone know where I can pick up a starting handle for a Petter PH2 engine which is fitted to a dumper so needs to have a long shaft.
  5. I find it easier keeping sockets on the metal strips rather than lugging heavy socket boxes in the field. Have separate strips for metric af and whitworth depending on what vehicle I am working on.
  6. Has anyone registered a dumper as an agri machine as I am looking for an easier way to take dumper and excavator to site rather than two separate journeys. Dumper is 4WD and would easily pull the 3 tonne excavator.
  7. Well the verdict is in. A small cog which slides between the drive shaft and pto shaft has had its cogs rounded having been turned around as a fix earlier this year. It looks like the selector fork has been redrilled and a new roll pin inserted. Not a major task until you look at the crown and pinion which has major cog damage and will need to be replaced. Nick drained the oil and with a magnet retrieved the remnants of the cogs together with a brand new looking roll pin. Obviously not amused that some mechanic could not be bothered to retrieve the roll pin which has caused so much damage.
  8. Cannot see any shear mechanism in the tractor parts manual but I do suspect a shear pin somewhere.
  9. Bald Ed Thanks for the recommendation but Treequip recommended Nick Hunt in Mossley who is a bit closer so I have taken the tractor there I will let you know how we get on.
  10. Its a Holder A15 and the PTO has stopped working under load, just making a clicking noise. When not under load PTO works fine engaging and disengaging using the clutch and no clicking noise.
  11. Any body have any recommendations for a good tractor mechanic in Lancashire. I am fed up of mechanics taking the tractor in then are "to busy" to sort it out.
  12. I would check the weight you may find the reason why its being sold is because you have no useful payload.
  13. What will you use to pull it as it looks very heavy.
  14. I have a 2 tonne fork lift dump skip which I thought of using with this rough terrain forklift. Eager Beaver Forklift Ex Army Rough Terrain 4x4 Four Wheel Steer | eBay That was until I read about the fatalities and the ease in which they tip over which has put me off slightly.
  15. Size does not matter from 1 tonne upwards. Really needs to be 4WD as on our land the slightest drop of rain and you get stuck with 2WD.
  16. Anybody have a dumper gathering dust. Need to level ground for a new agri building and was going to buy one off the bay but dont trust it any more and hiring seems to be dead money.
  17. Think I need to get some of my vintage machinery on the bay. 820 pounds for a kindling machine that looks like it still needed a motor and a belt seems a lot to me or am I just being tight.
  18. Found a little Holder A15 ideal for woodland tracks and with 3 pt lift ideal for dragging out trees.
  19. I love blackcurrants but what is the secret of picking them quickly. Starting to pick ours tonight once the bees have gone to bed and will probably be doing them all week.
  20. Have a MF550 if its any use to you as 2WD is useless on my farm. I bought it to replace a 4WD Jinma that blew its engine. Now replaced with a little Holder.
  21. It makes no sense at all at the moment. Nobody seems to know what fuels will be eligible, arb waste?? windblow ?? joinery waste ??.
  22. What I want to know is do these same rules apply on these flexible 4 lane motorways like the M6 in Birmingham where the hard shoulder becomes the inside lane of the motorway even though nobody seems to use it.
  23. Around all day got a new riddle bucket for the excavator to play with and 3000 tonne of stone to sort so will not be going far.
  24. If the absolute rubbish was aimed at me maybe you need to read up on HMRC BIM66655 - Timber merchants: owner occupation of woodlands
