If it was me I would just chop the branch off 3 foot above the bees then just strap it back to the existing tree branch using tree ties keeping the entrance direction as close to the original direction as possible. Certainly would wear a full bee suit as some wild bees can be a bit lively even at this time of year.

Stove is similar to this But modified to burn sawdust by inserting half a dozen bricks into the lower barrel then inserting horizontally a commercial air cleaner from truck or compressor on top of the bricks to hold the sawdust. Obviously the paper filter is burnt out first leaving a metal gauze cylinder in which you can place the sawdust. The polytunnel is 40 mtr long with a 1 mtr slope on the ridge so heater placed at the low end and by natural convection a heat barrier is created along the ridge of the polytunnel without the need for fans to provide frost protection.

If anyone wants the same result I do it on a regular basis using my excavator with shear head and heizohack chipper. Just take the top off as high as the excavator will reach then take the bottom off and the jobs done with no chip left on the forest floor. Also a lot quicker than that machine. -
Dry loose fill in IBC containers in polytunnel. Once dry chip and store in IBC containers then use in sawdust burner to keep polytunnel frost free in winter.

He just laughed when I initially asked for parts for my ancient tractor. Boots now on the other foot as he realises how much commission he has lost through me buying direct.

Hope someone can help. Have a German tractor and have always ordered parts direct from the manufacturer in Germany. UK agent has found out and complained so factory no longer able to send parts to UK address. This has really wound me up but the German factory say they can still deliver to a German address with cash on delivery. Hence my question anyone based in Germany with a German postal address who would be prepared to receive my parts and send them on using Dachser to UK.

I am not splitting hairs its in plain english you need planning consent or proof you dont need planning consent. Either way the council planning office are informed of your application and if in a smoke controlled area the application for a GF boiler should be rejected. As for getting a scheme prior approved by ofgem thats just good business sense.

Why do you listen to these idiots. They want to sell you a system and will tell you anything so that you sign on the dotted line. Just read the Ofgem reference I posted earlier. The planning aspect is in vol1 ref 3.8 and 3.9 then decide what to do. Its no skin off my nose either way. Also have a look further down the same document in respect of parasitic load which is in effect what your drying logs to burn logs is. If 50% of your drying load is deemed to be parasitic then you will lose 50% of your RHI income. Rework your figures on that basis and see if they still stack up.

More fool them. Specifically says in the ofgem files that planning will not be checked at time of application but will be required when inspected. Suggest they get a retrospective planning application in ASAP and hope the inspectors dont pick them up on it when they come to inspect.

They also said I could use one in a smoke controlled area just dont tell the council. Only problem is you need planning permission to get the RHI. Even the single heater that past the test was exceptionally close to failing at 27.6 pm when the limit is 30 pm. It seems stupid to me that you can test a 175 kw plant and then assume that a 195kw and 295kw plant will also pass the test without actually testing them.

Fines are a real problem in a wood gasification plant but if you know the client spec you can easily screen them out.

But the problem you have is the Glen Farrow is only approved for RHI purposes if this waste wood is VERY dry specifically in the range 14-18% MC and with no more than 5% contaminant level. So if your target to dry logs is 20% MC there is little point drying beyond that down to 18% just so that you have fuel for the next batch. If instead you use mixed logs rather than waste then the moisture content increases to 17-23 % Which means part of your batch of logs which could have been sold to your customers is now used to dry the next batch of logs.

Of course you going to loose. Its only a refund your still stuck with the Glenn Farrow boiler which will need to be replaced with a more compliant boiler in order to get the RHI. If you stick with Glenn Farrow then although the boiler has cost you nothing you still need to fuel it although if your not claiming RHI it can be all the rubbish and offcuts without any restriction on moisture content. To be honest I would go for the free boiler option as burning my waste wood is far better than burning wood that I could sell to a customer.

Sounds more like the guy could not be bothered taking out the 50mm screen and thought he could wing it as a 30mm sample.

Thats the big difference between drying for burning on a fire and kiln drying sufficient to kill pests and diseases for import into the country. All my solar kiln logs are below 20% MC but none quite rightly would be allowed to be exported to Australia as there not heat treated.

Complete waste of time. China does not recognise patents and actively encourages companies to infringe patent rights as a means of encouraging business to set up operations in China. By the time you go through the courts arguing your case the 20 years will be up. As for posting your designs on forums to stop others patenting from experience these does not work as the US patent office is far less rigourous and will accept patents without a great deal of research of previous patents. I have now stopped posting my projects on the internet as I was fed up of US patents being raised on my ideas 6 months later.

Well if you want to get RHI from your Glen Farrow boiler then you have just shot yourself in the foot as its not approved for RHI purposes for burning rubbish round processor and sawdust. What it is approved to burn is good quality logs at ridiculously low moisture content just the sort you want to sell to your customers.
