  1. Try a rytec i got one a 12 tonne 2 speed 1 meter stroke, made a table cost £1500 inc vat very good , and quick using telehandler hydraulics
  2. No private household , everyone holding back to get new payments i think
  3. Anybody noticed any extra interest in biomass I have had a lot of calls this week to price for chipping and two to supply 200 tonnes each
  4. The chipper is a heizohack . It is on an unbraked unsprung single axle at the moment but it dosent ride well , i run it behind a 8400 50k valtra but only manage between 30 - 40k . I have messed around with tyre pressure and front weights to try and balance it up a bit but no good It has a 3 point mount on it Most agri trailers are very big and high , something the size of a plant trailer would be ideal , but i run into weight problems , and brakes i think you have to go to oil or air if over 50k
  5. Does anybody carry any heavy weights on a 3 point linkage I am thinking of running the chipper this way on a fastrac or mf 6499 They will both lift around 8 tonne the chipper comes in at 3.5 tonnes , trying to find a sprung braked trailer is difficult and some of the roads round here are bad
  6. I do a party fire in the same place about 6 times in the summer , not all nighter but very close I load the pickup with 4 4ft by 2ft oak logs , then smaller as i get towards the cab, when tipped up the oak is roughly in the center of the fire ,this lasts all night from about 7 oclock there is 3 cube in the pickup
  7. Thanks for the info i will have a good look on monday I will let you know how it goes as i am chipping tuesday night Robert t mine is similar to yours but i took the ram off to save on weight I did think about making a telescopic extension for it but decided against to try and keep the weight down
  8. The offset is on the button , pedal for the breaker
  9. Sorry yes it is a jcb 803 It has a pedal which moves both left and right but only seems to work on the right hand side you can feel it pressurize but nothing to the right The breaker circuit has one small pipe and one much larger which i guess is the return
  10. Thanks , it may be a problem with the valve block , i dont think the breaker circuit has ever been used , not had anything to do with mini diggers before
  11. finely got myself a little 3 tonne digger to feed the chipper , along with a shiny botex grab Made an adapter for it and got it piped up My problem is the rotator is piped into the breaker circuit and it will only spin one way , is there an easy way to make it turn both ways or is it something i have to get used to . i may have to get a new two way block fitted , has anyone done this conversion?
  12. What size chipper are you getting in ?
  13. Most of the auger problems are from slithers of chip that cross or bridge the auger not letting the chips into the auger , a bit of a problem when you have a few tonnes of chip sat on top Another problem has been keeping a large chip store full all the time ie topping up every day keeping all that weight on the drive systems .With some motor failures Both are easy fixes just let the chip store run low every so often also reducing the chip at the bottom from starting to rot
  14. I deliver logs to a number of people with large log boilers , they all seem to use a lot more timber than they first thought , and still a lot of hard work I also supply woodchip which seems to be a lot more efficient , just feed it through the chipper and done Some of the smaller biomass boilers come with smaller hoppers that you can fill daily I deliver to one guy whose biomass boiler will take within reason arb waste Some of the smaller bio boilers use as little as a dustbin full of chip a day and minimal ash to take out
  15. My mate has one on his tracked timberwolf He uses it a lot very handy for all sorts we have pulled many a large tree over with it Really is worth fitting one
  16. Posch very good even with oversize bits
  17. Tom i use a palax tsve to cut billets , it does it very well I use a 30 t horizontal splitter then the palax , have done it this way for around 10 yrs now with no problems
  18. I drove past that scrap yard with a load of logs on the back , i thought the police were going to pull me over , as they were checking for waste licence They had 2 riot vans there
  19. I sell softwood , lime and poplar to 3 people with vigas boilers they love it when dry as it is a batch boiler it works well
  20. I bought a rytec 12 t splitter a year ago cant fault it at all it is the one that runs off the hydraulics , it splits meter length 2 speed It runs on the tele handler so is pretty quick , i made a table to split ring of upto 2ft easily , it has the 2 hand control but is very easy to convert to a foot pedal Best bit was the price for me £1500 inc vat last year Have had 21 days hire in 1 year at £50 a day so very pleased
  21. Yes loads of newbies round here , i think that in the last 2 years there are about 22 firewood guys started up in a 20 mile radius plus around 10 that have been going a long time The thing is they seem to get a grant and turn up with a new prosseser Its not until you talk to the dealers you find out how many prossesers there is close to you
  22. Ahhh yes sir we do take cash thankyou
  23. My l200 tipper gets a hard life It goes the same places as my old landy used to go full of logs all the time Saying that it had its first problem in 60000 miles the waste gate stuck so lack of power wd oil fixed it I know the one on ebay that was for sale was a good vehicle ond carefully driven Do you think that some people just have bad luck with vehicles ?
  24. Cheapest way enlarge splitter table and lift onto table with bobcat I have a table for mine that will split upto 3ft rings You could put a roller table to ease the friction a bit
