  1. I have a 12 tonne vertical tractor hydraulics one as well a lot lighter if you can get a tractor at the job site
  2. I am 45 next year I got a younger wife it only tires you out more I can still do the work just suffer more and longer
  3. No but i can hire you a posch 30 tonne pto one but you will need a fairly large tractor to lift it It is the one with the lifting cradle
  4. I just use my tipper for any bulk bags Tie the handles then tip enough to slide them off the back nearly as quick as tipping a loose load
  5. I recon so or my daughters will want an ice cream , i think i may be out of pocket here , but have a happy wife and daughters mmmm
  6. The tipper pickup holds 3 cube I think a double cab holds around 1.5 cube or there abouts She can bearly drive forwards never mind reverse with a trailer I think it is the fact that she could deliver logs on the way to the shops that did it
  7. I have a chipped l200 tipper that nearly always has 3 cube of logs in it towes very well I am looking at a double cab to carry kids and wife and logs that she can deliver i do like the toyota though
  8. I was a little concerned about lack of power but a chip upgrade will sort that Now the big question l200 or do i change to a toyota ???
  9. Thanks , will have a demo later on in the week My brother in law has had almost 2 identical audis one manual one auto , with the auto he can get the same mpg all day long he couldnt with the manual He is getting more mpg than the manual
  10. Does anyone use an automatic l200 or toyota for towing ? Just wondering as the wife said she will deliver logs if it is an auto

  12. I have had a lot of log orders in the york ripon leeds areas if anyone wants them Even if i add on a big delivery charge its not worth doing
  13. If you want to hire out you will need to have all the health and safty for it If it is home made the buck stops with you I bought a palax 8 years ago it is still worth what i paid for it I get £250 per day for hire , it wont take long to get your money back
  14. They do come up on ebay sometimes Have you tried caledonian forestry , why a trailer ? do you not have a tractor ? as there are lots of options with pto power

Did you find that you have a better profit margin when you changed over or is it just ease of handling as i am thinking of the same A local guy is doing logs by the dumpy at £10 more than my loose loads he is advertising a lot , and getting the customers He is advertising them as 1 cube , as we know that isnt so What do you recon swap over or stay put ?

  17. I run a big ifor tipper with mesh sides on full of timber sometimes and it pulls like train , best tower i have seen Must admit though i like the look of the new toyota if it can do the same as the l200 i might be swayed

I have a 56 plate single cab at the moment , so far it has been very good I had it chipped from new so it has about 176 bhp i think , very quick and torque It was converted into a tipper from new , so it carries about a ton of logs almost permantly It gets driven accross stubble fields laden with timber and all i have had to replace is wiper blade 30 mpg and 70000 miles so far so good

  20. Thinking of replaceing my old palax with a dalen I thought i might go the generator route instead of pto Second hand tractors seem to be more expensive than a gene Does anyone have any idea if the output is any different between electric and pto on a dalen ?
  21. You will find that i high hp tractor can be fairly economical if you try to keep engine revs at peak torque which is normaly around 1200 - 1500 Torque is what keeps the chipper going
