  1. They are a good well built looking chipper Ben but looks a heck of a big lump for everyday use.
  2. But it's a hel of a chipper, used it as the tracked version quite a lot and not found much it wouldn't eat once it has hold of it. Agree strongly that a bigger quadchip with vertical rollers is still my preference. Must be higher to need a bottom stop bar so above 500mm I think.
  3. Thing of beauty! Well all comes down to ££££ And how much £ my quadchip is worth in exchange. And if wife let's me
  4. Any pictures or information Pete?
  5. It's more the roadside working for me, being able to work 'off verge' so reducing the risk of being on the road. And I drive big numb vehicles that take some getting in places so turntable needs less accuracy.
  6. I'm in the same position at the moment ty. Talked to all the main manufacturers at the apf and it seems tp were the only real contender in this size without going 9" which seem to all be over 2200kg so big lumps. The new 190 from greenmech looks ok but not turntable it yet, timberwolf 190 is getting a revamp next but again not going on a turntable for at least 18month if at all. Premier are good but sooooo expensive. I want a quadchip 190 turntable with 8" x 12" opening, 45-50hp, vertical rollers, spare wheel, folding spout and a cup holder ;-)

    570 xp

As said wouldn't go above 20" for ground work, felling, crosscutting but I'd be tempted to use it with a bigger bar up a tree when I'm trying to keep the saw size down a bit.
  8. Alstor is a good machine but I'd not let it out as easy to do a lot of expensive damage quickly if you don't understand the machine. The market for small machines on site is good round us at the moment as lots of small woodlands are being managed again with having such a good market for biomass grade small timber.
  9. Liking the ramps as a stone guard johny
  10. Kids swimming lessons, taking my boy in to start with so good farther son morning then pricing normally in afternoon.
  11. Should have let me know you had little on Paul, I'd have had you in for at least a few days as I thought you was on for someone again but you are now good man
  12. Wish we could get the forwarder in but way too tight.
  13. Garden clearance job today, who needs a arbortrolly when you have an iron horse to shift all the brash 15m qu so far of chip back tomorrow then timber Monday.
  14. Yip works for me, keen to try a pantin- hass combo on ddrt with the zigzag, just walking up the rope arms only for balance.
  15. They have admitted that it is a weakness and the new springs are of a different designs as thicker mettle and more over shape coil, it happens and not hard or overly expensive to fix.
  16. Greyhound, fast enough to catch them too and normally really friendly dogs, downside is you can't take it to work as might give the wrong image
  17. That's a lovely cheese board. What timber is it dan?
  18. That'll do this one the world of good as already starting to show signs of bleeding canker.
  19. Crown cleaning this yesterday and it was starting to flower all over but also shed it's leaves but with new 1s opening next to them and drop conkers, any 1 ells seen this?
  20. This is a particularly valid point in our house as we are always having to clear cat mess off the gravel drive, flower beds, veg beds and even lawn. The worry for me is if my son gets it on him and gets ill from it and is almost guaranteed to need to go to hospital in Newcastle as it will trigger an underlying condition he has. It narks me as when I've said something to the neighbours all I get is, not my problem, can't stop cats being cats..... No but you can stop having so many and lock the darn things up! Like said if it was a dog I'd be clearing it up and depositing it strate on to the owners front doorstep.
  21. Nearly choked watching that, from the mouth of children comes such fine truths ;-)
  22. Only if not asked for. Predictive text... Grrrrr Carelessness is what I was trying to say ;-)
  23. Looks like you had a much clearer day than we did, alway like it down by the river. Love the picture of the colly looking at the Castle
  24. Quickest way to kill your arb career I'd say! If it's an accident fine if it's blatant caresses or just not giving a poo then man up and pay up!!
  25. Yes a tenon cutter was used but a non tapered 1 from veritas, got 3, 3/4“ 1.5" and 2" then tend to use a trend fostner bit 1mm smaller to make sure it's a tight fit.
