  1. Techniques in the use of the MagThrowBag climbing…: Try this link, was the 1 I was on about.
  2. Don't go for imori for a zigzag, excellent rope for grip and feel but won't self tend very wel because for the bumpy construction of the outer sheath, it's was my main rope for the hitch climber but changed not long after getting the zz. I have tecion for a side strop in my zillion and thats fine so fancy trying that as my next main line.
  3. Bluetongue all the way for me, lasting very well.
  4. Ment to say sanding pads are a waste of time on green timber as they just clog up in seconds.
  5. Got sorted in the end Kevin and an apology from head about it all. Bobh, got 7" 80grit flap disks for it which fair shift timber but leave quite a smooth finish, also remove skin so be careful, ended up with a good gash on my ring finger that needed glueing and sherry stitches.
  6. I tried the left/right defenders a while back but never felt they fitted as well as these, I also wash the sponge bit ever few weeks by sticking them in my chainsaw trousers pocket and washing the lot.
  7. Try these, higher rating but still the closer fit.
  8. Some simple benches for my daughter's school, larch milled with the alasken then sanded and sculpted with a 9"angle grinder.
  9. Was going to say that's worse than 1 of my slightly running over jobs! Hmmmmm new lady, remember a gentleman never tells so I'm looking forward to hearing all about it :-P
  10. Deep cycle leisure battery and some long wires, was thinking the same jon and use a old tripod from a bust halogen light I have.
  11. Nice 1 Paul and hodge. You off for some autumnal walkys up t hills this time Paul?
  12. Ah so that's why you were asking if I was near there, big old stump that johny, had it gon softer or harder with age? Did some very old oak stumps last week and it was like grinding kerb stone!
  13. Bit of a call out yesterday willow splitting over a road so gave it a good pollard then a lovely split ash to winch down today.
  14. Reg has a sweet looking grapple hook Tree climbing - grappling hook HD:
  15. Tried home made shito from a ghanahan friend when round for dinner, talk about a little going a long way! Tasty but hot!
  16. Magnets, I'm sure a video was posted on here a while back where 2 lines were used and the bag had a magnet in and so did the 2nd line somehow..... Just remember it worked very well.
  17. Cow mat is quite soft almost spongy stuff, ok for running tracked stuff over but would be destroyed by dropping branched on where's stock board is more rigid and imo will last longer but also around the 30quid mark, local ag serpliers have pallets of it in at moment.
  18. For lighter machines and repetitive foot passage over a few days or after very wet weather I put down some of the thinnest pig board think it's either 4 or 5mm and works perfectly even carries a 50hp predator grinder without a mark. Thinking of getting some thicker 8x4sheets and cutting them down to 8x2 for driving the landy cherrypicker over grass this winter.
  19. Recently started playing with a backbone from sherrils, makes notless rigging with slings so much quicker both up the tree and for the groundsman, any1 ells tried it yet? With a bit of luck and time I hope to get a video of it up soon.
  20. Not surprising you got banned from the forums after the hrs jdd said you'd put in to the x video. All good, loving the singing groundy and client in cloths don't make a man
  21. A tirfor cable shouldn't untwist as the way the individual wires within the cable run parallel to the cablewhich gives it's smoother nature unlike conversation winch cable which is quite bumpy also some of the bigger 1s have swivel hooks probably for this reason, mine has.
  22. As matty said, the 2001 gives you the option of cutting in a mount seat which is better for blocking down even if this is a future thing and it's kinder to your ropes with a bigger bend radius. As the mps say it's helping future proof yourself. Nowt wrong with a floating capstan, still use an old 1 in the 12mm kit for pruning works or for a 2nd tail line but non of my lads would pick it out of choice.
