  1. 14.5m at full reach jon.
  2. That's what I want to do with mine as soon as I get time bob along with rear and corner windows guards.. Looks nice Joel, handy that they can tow as often you end up taking two vehicles to site anyway but now you have the bones that 1 has a cherrypicker on it. Even it you can't reach the whole tree at least you can deal with the heavy trunk section without the need for painful time on spikes.
  3. Neighbour actually complained about the extra light getting into her house after removing some large conifers as now her husband could see all the dust so shed actually have to clean properly now ;-)
  4. Worth it if you couple it up to a trailer and work it on the rite jobs, hauled out 65 conifers from a rear garden in 2days which produced 21m q of chip and around 8ton of logs, imagine having to hand ball that lot! Ow and only used 4ltrs of fuel....
  5. Where were that john? Starbeck, where ells. I did have bob and hardisty with me so that might explain some of it
  6. Find someone who cleans house rugs and get them to wash them as they will have heavy capacity drum machines used to dirt.
  7. That's the waggon driver/crane opperata, good bloke but must spend way too much time on his own in that cab. ;-)
  8. Do they mostly go for land clearance company's in the US or chip producers?
  9. Talking of keeping backs happy this did! Video to follow from the whole dismantle.
  10. That's impressive! Bet you don't sell many in the UK.
  11. Quite an insulting one from a few years back when I worked for someone else, out at a job in the big mog and a neighbour comes over and asked if we do scrap removal as well as he had some old fridges he wanted rid of?
  12. Not half as interesting as sneezing and hitting it with your visor can be, probably one dropped 2" but felt like 2m when already disorientated by the sneeze
  13. Spiderjack is good but not a good starting point as can quite easily scare the poop out of you if your just gaining experience up a tree especially on delicate limb walks.
  14. Zigzag, not had any back problems since I ditched my hitchclimber and started using this, don't ask why as the motion is similar but it works for me. Prussic, pah!!
  15. They are a good well built looking chipper Ben but looks a heck of a big lump for everyday use.
  16. But it's a hel of a chipper, used it as the tracked version quite a lot and not found much it wouldn't eat once it has hold of it. Agree strongly that a bigger quadchip with vertical rollers is still my preference. Must be higher to need a bottom stop bar so above 500mm I think.
  17. Thing of beauty! Well all comes down to ££££ And how much £ my quadchip is worth in exchange. And if wife let's me
  18. Any pictures or information Pete?
  19. It's more the roadside working for me, being able to work 'off verge' so reducing the risk of being on the road. And I drive big numb vehicles that take some getting in places so turntable needs less accuracy.
  20. I'm in the same position at the moment ty. Talked to all the main manufacturers at the apf and it seems tp were the only real contender in this size without going 9" which seem to all be over 2200kg so big lumps. The new 190 from greenmech looks ok but not turntable it yet, timberwolf 190 is getting a revamp next but again not going on a turntable for at least 18month if at all. Premier are good but sooooo expensive. I want a quadchip 190 turntable with 8" x 12" opening, 45-50hp, vertical rollers, spare wheel, folding spout and a cup holder ;-)

    570 xp

As said wouldn't go above 20" for ground work, felling, crosscutting but I'd be tempted to use it with a bigger bar up a tree when I'm trying to keep the saw size down a bit.
  22. Alstor is a good machine but I'd not let it out as easy to do a lot of expensive damage quickly if you don't understand the machine. The market for small machines on site is good round us at the moment as lots of small woodlands are being managed again with having such a good market for biomass grade small timber.
  23. Liking the ramps as a stone guard johny
