  1. Guess I'll be making lots of pricing phone calls tomorrow.
  2. Quite liked the look of these very similar machines from fuelwood and wilsons recon they could easily be made to be mounded on some kind of frame then onto the truck.
  3. Ahhhh might give him a call Monday for hire prices because realistically he's not that far from me, orange plant used to hav a boxer but think that went a few year back.
  4. Going to have to look into seeing if any1 in our are has something like it on a hire fleet as got a good weeks worth of job's it'd be ideal on and could just be the push to decide.
  5. Nice, I wanted 1 of the little Loders before now I really REALLY NEED 1! That would have made yesterday so much easier and quicker clearing everything off roads.
  6. Ah well might give Jim a call on Monday. Just need to find a flow rate for the rb pump somehow and get a 2nd line fitted off the winch circuit.
  7. Looks solid Elliott but probably a bit big and heavy for the rb and a bit overkill for how many logs I plan on doing, ie less than 50m2 of arb wast timber.
  8. Riko UK - A9V500PI - Vertical log splitter for tr…: Yes they still do it Chris, looks quite a good machine for the money, is it actually this quick or is tractor in vid at full throttle to speed it up?
  9. It involves bodily extremity and the Logspitter!! Yes Mr shires I know, 1st check insurance, then saving then I guess available time with no invoices but for how much of the replacement value I don't know, harder situation than the normal you bend it you mend it things we normally encounter!
  10. Flipping hop so, he's ment to be looking into it and letting me know, be nice if it's a new for old policy but got a sinking feeling won't be covered as won't be specified on the policy.
  11. Unfortunately lent it to a lad who helps me near bishop, went from his garage along with 2 motorbikes and a few saws of his. £2370 for a new 1 but was about 8years old but still in very good working order so not quite sure how to handle the situation at moment.
  12. Well last week my Thor splitter got nicked so looking at options for replacement. Two options are self contained with engine or modifiable to plum into the hydraulics on my rb and possibly carry on the front for the odd time we need it on site. I like splitting at a comfortable hight not on the floor and a decent sized table so everything won't fall strate off as soon as it's split. Min 8ton splitting force as anything lower is a bit feeble I think and a decent size knife as didn't like the 1ns fitted to the oxdale machines.
  13. Sorry any pictures of it were on the old pc which is defunkt. Now looking at options for a replacement but has to be 2 handed as paying people to use it.
  14. Thor 10.5 ton Logspitter with 10.5hp briggs and Stratton engine stolen last week. Was fitted with wide splitting knife, engine mounts had been rewelded and top table was a little bent at the sides. Stop switch broken and requires cross wiring to stop engine. Any information to help with the return of this machine would be appreciated as was out on lone so not covered by insurance.
  15. Was thinking exactly the same about a 2nd camera, tempted by the gopro hero, for about 100quid it's not bad for a 2nd 1 compared to the others. Often find the jobs that'd make the most interesting vids are the 1ns that require total concentration or have just no time for setting anything up for getting interesting footage. Think I'm going to try a montage of clips from different jobs soon showing different equipment or job styles so don't have to think about capturing a full job for it to make sense.
  16. Got the egr blanking kit fitted to the 130 cherrypicker last week which for once turned out to be a very strate forward no dramas job, less than an hour. Not sure if it's made any performance improvement but it seems to stink less when sat ticking over for long periods working the boom, was definitely gummed up inside as paddle was very stiff to turn inside!
  17. New bairings, anvil is cracked and new belts, 400 odd hrs in a little over 2 years with nothing but oil and blade changes so can't really complain.
  18. No still at garage waiting for new injectors to turn up as 1 is cracked, could have done with that with all these call outs as well! Big truck is good but side wind gusts when she's empty can be a little squeaky bum! And head lights are crap as still not got round to fitting the led spot lamps to the front.
  19. That's good, you'll get to have a play with my greenmech as garath is hiring it in for that course. That is if it back from fixes, geez could have done with it today!
  20. Sounds like my day Andy, had a few I wished I had a mog with crane to help, just ended up winching stuff with the rb44 instead. 4th picture looks like something from axe men, keep you busy for a while. Another from thisafternoon, can't believe it didn't hit anyone or rip any of the wires off the house, another to finish next week and remove the rest of the tree.
  21. Just got in from this 1 at 2.15am Took out 2 power lines and a fiber optic line. Strange as 4 month ago removal was refused as nothing wrong with the tree :what::what:
  22. ZigZag recriational climb: Hear you go bud.
  23. Yup, sheared clean of the stump, fair size if you spot my beany on the trunk.
  24. Let's hope this wind go's or you might be skipping felling and strate into windblow! Let us know how you get on but should be all fine, enjoy!
