  1. Thinking of coming along to the Feb session to pick up some pointers that could help my business run a little smoother and what we should be aiming towards.
  2. When I used to work for a well known power line clearance company as a crew leader I let one of my crew borrow the hilux over the weekend, was expecting to find something Monday morning but was plesently surprised to find it all clean Until the windscreen started to steam up a bit to reveal 2 petite footprints on the passenger side of the windscreen.......
  3. Would this do, call Stephen and he might be able to sort you out. Binderbergerc 520 Firewood Processor Hire:
  4. He's nuts (in a good way) but good at fixing whatever comes into his workshop
  5. You wouldn't have said that a week ago when it was banging and clattering with worn bairings cracked anvil hitting the blades and slipping belts. But David olivers mechanic sharp sorted it for me and got it back to working properly again.
  6. Ah, magic. Should be passing local tractor dealer next week so might call in and see if they will test it for me.
  7. That's the guy!
  8. How can you find out the flow rate of the pump short of undoing the pipe and sticking it in a bucket with a stopwatch. Presure I guess the hydraulics guy will have a gizmo to read this so easy anough.
  9. I'll tell him you said that! Can't have done much chipping as derv level hardly looks like it's changed. You'll be rite on Tues just take your time and don't stress it.
  10. Well if my idea works out table should be just over knee hight so not too bad and just looked in yard and could use 1 of the sheds steel uprights and weld a bracket onto that to hang splitter off for when using it there to hold it at a nice hight.
  11. Not really that many of them around here and if it comes to that I'll just refer them to my mate who has big kit and takes all my larger timber. I just want it for my own logs, when a client wants a few doing on site from there tree and to do prop 30-40m2 of the nice easy timber of job's to help cover yard rent a bit and fill in after short day jobs.
  12. Nop that's on the hydraulics, got a feeling the revs are up a bit but with it being 2 speed should be fairly quick plus rb has quite high flow rate in 4th gear.
  13. Update. Since having my Thor self powered splitter stolen just after Christmas this project has shifted up a gear. Looked at lots of options but at moment the riko machine is in winning position having nipped down to have a look at 1 last week. Riko UK - A9V500PI - Vertical log splitter for tr…: Going to make arms that will bolt onto the big eyes on the top of the bumper where the shackle is in pick and sit down the sides of the winch onto where bottom link arms would normally go on splitter then make a large pin bracket to go into the hole on centre of the fairleads to hold where top arm normally would which should sit splitter at a nice hight to work. Then run it off the hydraulics for the winch. Comments /ideas on this?
  14. Nice video, looks nice and spongy in the bottom, nice use of the landy to tweak the chogs of stem off:-) Some serious sawdust to tidy up after ringing that lot up!
  15. Looks like the dude out of the last batman film
  16. Ah, good anough. Still looking for 1 though?
  17. What the  Siko tree killer ;-)
  18. Just shows the size of stuff it can deal with!
  19. Have you got 1 now Chris? Pictures please if you have!
  20. Attractive women operation huge machines and the odd but of humer;-) Think doing something different is getting harder as some are settling the bar higher and higher, just keep looking for the different angles and interesting techniques
  21. Arborist - Storm clearance. Dedicated to my Grand…: There you go jack, cool work thanks for sharing.
  22. Nice 1 jo, bet you were a bit worried felling the top off with the camera in it, never quite dare do that myself yet.
  23. Yes settled on a value of 50% of new price as seemed fair, or as fair as any of these situations are. Yes he's out of pocket, so am I as I did have a perfectly good quick safe machine which owed me nothing and could earn decent money and to replace it with the same is 2400 and i don't have the difference spare to do this so having to go a different way.
  24. No joy with insurance as his household won't cover it so he's having to smash the piggy bank this weekend so we can sort a replacement as got jobs quoted that involve splitting timber on site after taking out the tree. Think I'm going to get something for now that'll run off the rb's hydraulic circuit which will need a bit of fiddling by my hydraulics fitter.as can't really justify the extra 1.5k for a new self powered 1 and 2nd hand stuff all seems dodgy, knackered or at opposite end of the country!
  25. We got cell grown oak saplings for our wedding, and just covered over the little root/soil plug and handed them out again with a little thankyou and care note, a few friends every year on our anniversary send a picture of there tree which is quite sweet of them.
