  1. Today which is only 2nd proper working climb since setting it up and worked very nice especially when choggging the pole down as could get it really short and close in.
  2. I'm not enjoying the snow much up top of these pines, brrrr ;-)
  3. Just made something similar on my treemotion, will take photos tomorrow when I'm back down the yard , works well with the zigzag so you can pull from below then shorten up for working again
  4. That's 1 of the biggest k booms I've seen around these parts ham, looks some amount of kit on that site! Forst chipper, vermeer skid steer, forwarder. Your job or in helping someone out on this 1?
  5. Horrible split ash tree today, but the joy of a 4x4 picker Striped it to a pole then felled each part in almost opposite direction leaving an interesting stump.
  6. Sounds lovely, and I thought we had it bad with the odd wasp nests, hippys and chavs. Cheers for the full reply. And cheers for subscribing to my youtube.
  7. ^^^What he said ^^^ I'm hard on clothes and these have definitely lasted my abuse had pfanner arborist type as for longer which are comfortable but only go on on particularly hot days or logging days.
  8. Some cool footage there bud, slowly working my way through them but hit the subscribe button after the 1st few. Always wanted to ask what's a bit of a random question, those gloves... just because they are good or for wrist support Got a mate who has a line clearance company in oz somewhere and says the critters can be a problem if your not watching out for them, had any of them encounters?
  9. Mad me smile. Well done steve and thanks for helping us help others.
  10. That needs videoing if you do, ;-)
  11. Easy anough to Google the hire firm and call them to confirm sale is genuine.
  12. Trick with the smart feed is slow the rollers down to below 5 on the valve and it generally solves the spitting it back out problem.
  13. Gardner, exactly the same as a Simon. Landy booms don't have the largest outreach but have many other benefits that in my opinion far out weigh this.
  14. The only advertising I do now is clearly sign written truck and word of mouth, get loades of enquiries starting with we spotted your trucks and got the number......
  15. These are all twin rollers with quite a large top 1 which climes forks and larger timber very well. Tempted to watch this machine myself.
  16. Not bad chippers, messy! You will need a full covered chip box or you'll have as much on your cab as in the back. Very solid construction and as long as the smart feed works properly a very productive machine.
  17. Generally a lot more pre work work to do as well like site specific method statement and risk assessment, having to fit in with there schedule not yours and time wasted on site with inductions etc and the for mentioned inevitable wait to get paid.
  18. Cost me £275 for inspection and cert, not sure on legal requirements of it but do know I need it to be covered by my insurance both public /employees and machine specific. No it wouldn't pass if legs can be raised without the boom being fully stowed in transport position as that's quite an important safety feature to avoid someone lifting them while your up in the air and toppling the whole thing over. Shouldn't cost too much for some simple relay switches to be fitted to a valve in the leg hydraulics to make it ok.
  19. Just had lola cert done on mine thismorning, 1st 1 since getting her and no problems thankfully. Do you know what the history of this 1 was as it's quite unusual with the donkey and welder behind the cab. Must be pushing 3.5ton with all that lot as mine is 3.19ton as she sits without gear on board.
  20. Just general photos of what sounds a very interesting and useful machine.
  21. Why such hi stumps Ian? Guessing they are being dug out eventually. Always nice when the presure is off and you can let them take there time with some gidence to help improve skills
