  1. Now now boys I didn't start a thred for a my chipper is better than your chipper excrement slinging match they are completely different machines so can't be compared. People are always putting forst down for problems but what brand hasn't had them at some point just look at the tw150 if it was unwaveringly excellent why not just keep making it. It's called development some early forst had problems, they fixt them built better and improved so why everyone has to keep putting them down I don't know but two particular culprits get very upset if a bad word is said against the precious wolf
  2. Gary, that's what I heard over and over again about the back up and service which I think played a good 50% of the business side of the choice made. And what ultimately put me off the ts brand as they didn't have the model I wanted in the UK and nor did they carry any parts so would have to be shipped from Germany.
  3. Well omt if the Jenson sales guy hadn't shrugged his shoulder, turned his back and walked off at the arbshow when I was trying to enquiry about there machines he might have got another sale but with that attitude na.. Hadn't noticed any problems with it grabbing stuff, even just 1 hand sliding it in on sycamore oak and pine yesterday, ah well each to there own but at least you didn't get a gm190.
  4. Yip, soon to read You can't chip quicker than a quadchip chipper........... Unless you sell it and get a forst 😜
  5. Went for the st8 Johny as needed the extra speed and capacity it gives.
  6. Very aggressive feed capacity, they almost cut side branches off as they grab hold, tried all the speed settings and like the sticker says 4 - 5 is best for dragging stuff in. The way they open in a slite ark forwards also helps them climb onto timber or over forks to then crush them, couldn't belive how well it delta with some big twisty pine branches today.
  7. Haha, it's only money man 😁 Been all precious about it today wiping dust off it and cleaning a the hopper out at the end of each chipping session... Won't last! Going to see if the arbortrolly will fit in the hopper without scratching the crap out of it.
  8. Well after much deliberation and a few demos the decision was easy in the end and today it landed in the yard and was promptly attached to the Rd and off to a few jobs to test on a few different trees. Apart from not being quite the rite shade of orange all I can say is its a reet beast of a machine! Thanks to Craig at Redwood for promptly answering any questions I had and getting the deal sorted and the machine delivered. Going to be grinning like a kid for quite a while watching it's awesome feeding force and capabilities on branchy twisty stuff. :-D 👍
  9. I prefer a length of alcathene pipe personally as tends not to leave deep bruising ;-)
  10. Nick your a star if you have such self control to stop mid flow so easily :-?
  11. It's when they tell you they've had several people come an look at the job but no one has returned a price so still looking for someone to do it that I get really worried,
  12. I'd just get a new 1 and keep that for spares which would save you a lot of time and hassle.
  13. Lifted it up and reversed under then kinda shoved it the rest of the way, didn't do the trailer floor many favors that's for sure. Would love to have put it on the scales. Once it's carved into whatever he has in mind for it I'll call round his workshops and get some pictures of it.
  14. Few from finishing off the monster oak today, lad who was taking the timber sent the jcb and for reasons only known to him decided to put the biggest bit on the ifor which I think could have been a smidgen overloaded. :-?
  15. Not sure what's it was but lifted it with this, reversed the trailer under then slid it into the center. Luckily it was quite hollow but still I wouldn't have dared try taking that on the road.
  16. Think the lad who bought this oak off me might have been slightly overloaded. Thought he'd send a wagon not a ifor.
  17. About 15 min with brash which is half what it's capable of on bigger timber which is around 1m3 per min. It was handy that I could stack stuff up and keep bringing stuff to him with the digger which probably speeded it up as we didn't need to keep repositioning.
  18. About 60" across the stump, glad I'm not grinding it! 3 rb loades and 2 trailer loades of chip but to be fair we did chip just a little more than normal just because we could. 😀 Not entirely sure how much the hiab my mates sending tomorrow for the big timber can lift so could be an interesting day.
  19. Yes and the hole it left went 6ft up and 3 down and could see daylight from op side from a few old wounds.
  20. A few from today, all stripped out by lunch when busy daddy turned up with a bit bigger chipper to help the bobcat tidy up my mess. Pole down by 4.30 and now just the timber to shift once I've graded and leveled a bit of ground to make it a bit nicer for getting heavy timber out. Hopefully ben will post a few of the climbing if he's about.
  21. What you need is what we call a stealth saw 😉
  22. Rear propshaft uj let go on landy yesterday so stripped that off but didn't manage to pick a new 1 up today so instead fitted new skirts to the rg13 which I've been trying to do for months and fixed the brake which wouldn't work, turned out to be a bit of gravel wedged in the side stopping it working, simple fix sometimes 😀
  23. Big oak dropped a limb last week so started on with this thisafternoon after a little domestic dismantle, rest of tree to do tomorrow when the bigger toys come out to play. Might get a few nice bits of timber out of it but mostly fubar.
  24. Gob the lot strate away and them no longer worth protection, remember that job we did like that near Selby way when about 8 of us were set poised with saws and at 8am all hell broke loos as everything was simultaneously felled before anyone knew what was going on...
