  1. Avon skin so soft, you smell like a old woman but the critters stay away, saved our holiday on skye a few years back as the little vampires were wick!!
  2. It was a good well built machine with a few features that I really liked, the one touch throttle button on the hopper and the belt tension release to make changing blades easier but lacked central grease points which is a step backwards and the hopper felt a little bit small at only 3" wider than the quadchip which had no support under it which is going to stress the welds at the front of the hopper during travel bounce. If I was after a tracked machine this thing would be it but just lacked wow as a tow behind for what I'm after.
  3. Forst are hinting to middle of next year and the way we are going with putting so much demand and hrs on the quadchip it's be bust or worthless by then which is not what I want as its currently such a reliable machine just not designed to do what we are asking from it nearly every day. 1928 tt is such a numb looking beast unfortunately and the GM 190didnt live up to what I'd hoped so forst is looking likely then change when the tt comes out next year.
  4. Good result geesaw, like that!
  5. And there's the 30k pricetag! Last forever like!!
  6. It's the lowest hp 8"machine going at 37hp, spoke to a lad who had a inline and loved it and then got 1 on a tt and recond it wasn't a patch on the original as it looses power through the belt set up.
  7. That's been my problem, finding something to complete with the quadchip but bigger and not costing 30 odd grand + vat.
  8. You too sir, wish we'd had a bit longer for a few more jars, wanted to do something for years and this year thought sod it and sent in the application and got a space (might have something to do with offering to do some photos from the cherry-picker) costs not too bad at £1.50 per ft of frontage. Families all good at moment thanks, Aarons condition is stable at the moment and preparing for him to start school in September which could be interesting.
  9. So I'm guessing from lack of replies no 1 has been doing any shows as a way of promoting their business face to face.
  10. Selling my quadchip and at the moment the st8 is looking the best contender. Had the gm190 out last week and it was good but struggled to get conifer greenery further than the middle of my chipbox and felt it pulled in no better than the quadchip so I'd be upgrading to a bigger more powerful machine with little more improvement in performance which says a lot for how good the quadchip is but the st8 performed like a much bigger machine and really packed the chip in.
  11. A wash would be good or a new shiny 🚜. Will have a work out Monday night on space but happy to help promote your chipping at the same time as out tree clear work, might have my new chipper by then :-D
  12. I think the only time I've come across a problem with the hb20 is when I was trying to get between a garage and a fence, the grinder fitted no problem but had hardly any room to swing the handles and couldn't see a thing infant, managed though!
  13. Bit of a call out today, it was cracking and hung when it was called in but thankfully for us had made it to the ground by the time we got on site.
  14. Reeth, might be room on the stand if you fancy bringing your big toy along. August bank holiday Monday.
  15. Always interesting to see what success people get from shows and how they make the stand interesting. Doing our 1st 1 in August presenting the tree work and equipment. Always after presentation tips or tricks.
  16. Getting to that time of year when village, town or county shows are cropping up so any one who's put themselves on show to the public let's see some pictures.
  17. Please not you in a mankiny my eyes would be scared forever:-P
  18. If they are subbys and good regular one's why not offer to go halves on it with them, that's what I did with 1 recently with his climbing ticket. Probably wouldn't call it training on the paperwork but femilyrisation (prob not spelt correct) of the machine and use afag guide as checklist.
  19. I think so but should the proverbial hit the fan the question of whether you have any formal training might be asked. You could deliver a tool box training talk with a combination of manufacturers handbook and the afag guide as a basis. How many staff? Only ask as if you are friends with any other companies localy you could get together and get an independent trainer in for a day to deliver a Lanta course which if there's say 6 shouldn't cost that much per bod and will definitely satisfy and insurance or site inspection.
  20. Will have a good look tomorrow but I don't think it is.
  21. It'll do it but you will have to alter the blow out on the winch or fit a 2nd circuit, also worth looking at fitting a small oil cooler into the system somewhere as I've found after about 20min the oil can get very hot due to the tank only being small. Why not spend a bit more and look at the 1 from Rico like mine then you have a recognized make with some comeback also that 1 has a very small footplate that will drive you mad. Get some picks up when you do it.
  22. This big thing came to visit my grinder today.
  23. Yes, that'd do it for sure!
  24. Getting it in would have been fine but eating the wrought iron fence part grown into it might not have gone down too well!
  25. About 6hr I think, about 30ltrs of fuel but luckily only found 1 stone of any size so teeth are still good.
