  1. Bit bigger than what she's normally handling and most of it on the opposite side to when you've got the chipper on her so that tyre might be a bit softer.
  2. Possibly but would have needed a much bigger winch with spades which would have done quite a bit of ground damage as there was more crown on the far side than this due to a large oak being this side till that went a few months back. The risk of whichever stem you anchored to failing without bringing the whole tree over was a worry and as it happens we still put a floating v onto the two main stems just to make sure the load was spread. 14m3 of chip and 3 trailer loades of timber so was a deceptively large crown on it.
  3. What he said ☝👆 My arborist vents have a zip out tick guard and if that's just in the wrong place it's agony. Boots also big help, I have arbortec profells which being quite a high boot really help compared to my old airstreams which offered hardly any support. Geckos for me too by the way had them since before they were in the UK and would have nothing ells.
  4. Might know where a barely used 1 is if lad fancy parting with it might be worth a pm.
  5. You haven't met my wife! 🐲
  6. Go for the 3001, we have given it lots of use with some big timber and apart from 1 bent pin and a bust strap handle both from direct hits from the last bit before felling it's survived everything unscathed.
  7. Looked at the same size 10'x5' tipper but sticking with the 1 I have for another year at least.
  8. That's the 1, think the wife might hurt me if she found out I'd got 1! 😲
  9. Gopro hero 3 black, been tempted to get 1 of the new little 1ns for helmet mounting and use this 1 for everything ells.
  10. Trying to get away from just point of view, not that there's anything wrong with that sort but always interesting to be different if it works, moolah was a big help getting quite a few of the shots while I was working the saws or crane, thought I was going to destroy the camera at 1 point sitting it on a log to get picked up and it got trapped between two logs but luckily just scuffed the case.
  11. Ah this has a full hight box fitted for chip but I think it's around that price.
  12. No I have the st8, very little need for tracks when we have a rb and two landys 😉 Had a full day taking a lot of the back of this tree before I dared fell it as didn't trust the structure of the forks as was full of cracks and decay. Didn't want the rb to just rip of part of the tree. Yeh remember the day trying to drag a very overloaded landy and chipper out of that Valley!
  13. I'm holding on to my older ifor after looking at a new 1 and deciding it'd be better putting a few quid into new brakes, cables, dampener lights etc for something that's built to last more than a few years.
  14. D7 for me please.
  15. What's your budget as I know of 1 near Durham that's nearly finished with new tipper and arb body on it, td5 110, very tidy indeed.
  16. Today's put together from a few weeks back, again a little different as no climbing because I'd forgotten the camera the day before when we stripped out the back of the tree over the tennis courts to bias the balance. Tree was removed on the councils recommendation after a large amount of Cambus started to die off and some of the main forks were compromised following a lightening strike. Enjoy
  17. Picture might help
  18. Just got a uniforest 1300hardrox grab with 4.5ton rotator to go on a 360 that I hire in regularly from a friends hire firm, going to be fabricating up the mounting bracket this weekend or early next week and wanted a few opinions on weather it was best to have the grab able to swing in all directions with a bracket or just 1 direction Crappie sketches on phone might make sense 1st like a H so only swings in line with arm 2nd like 2 u's as 90°
  19. Got mine as a kit Ian but on ear defenders so easy to clip on and off existing helmets as nd when needed or if someone different is in easy just to clip onto there helmet nd go. Came like this ian
  20. You didn't see the fight I nearly got into with a squirrel to get those acorns, big buger he was too!
  21. That'll be while you were dodging my acorn field artillery fire, big shots aren't just for line placement 😜
  22. Now that'd do me perfectly for yard and light trailer work but I bet it's well out my current budget 😞
  23. Thanks darrin, just ordered one, exactly what was needed. 👍
  24. 2nd day with the coms, again I was on the ground for the mostpart and directing staff what needed to be pruned of on a sensitive little job, the lack of shouting to communicate definitely made things with this client a lot less stressful. Went for a good walk to try them over a bit of distance and at a good 500m still crystal clear. Really happy with them. Now all I need to find is a triple USB port plug to simultaneously charge all 3 over night.
  25. My 1 definitely says x on it
