  1. But traffic will be coming from both directions on a give take priority system such as this so no matter which way you are pointing traffic will be approaching from behind at some point.
  2. Bugger, they now have better chippers to undercut me with on a Saturday!
  3. Did you go past mine yesterday Paul? Was just coming out the yard and a tr8 went belting past.
  4. That's the one's, was not happy with how he performed for a professional cutter. When you get a 350hp+ FENDT stuck to the point you need a 15ton 360 to get it out your going to get big ruts but what a machine when it was working.
  5. Nasty, hope they all got out ok.
  6. Try a c price for a 2nd hand machine but a decent 1 is rare unless someone has upgraded.
  7. Thanks David, had consider it could be mycorrhyzal but don't have a great book for them, amazing we had 5 people tell us it needed cutting down because it had fungus and was dangerous when actually it's benefits it. On the other hand that ash is coming down as soon as we get the works order.
  8. We managed to get 43ft stood up which is better than the 25-30 we'd been promised, good job iv got a picker to put the star on top 😉
  9. How on earth did he manage that! It's willow, it'll grow back just fine 😕
  10. Yep but was good as really filled the corner out, will get pick of it up tomorrow.
  11. Is that the same little kabota you shifted all that timber Nr Scarborough for me chris? Did a fantastic job as long as you dodged the ruts and bog holes left by the mulcher as I remember. And not so good presentation from a lad who strangly only did 2 day's for me on that site to add to your joy.
  12. Joy of really big hedges as a few inches out just won't be seen.
  13. Another big hedge to top today, blowing a gale again which was making my job in the picker hard doing the windward side but making life easy for the two climbing the tops as could just jump cut them and 20ft of top just sailed off clearing the driveway to land in the field. Monster chip up tomorrow and 8 more to top.
  14. Some interesting little fungs around a birch we had to lift over a footpath and some big brackets that completely encircled both these ash stems I looked at yesterday, cherrypicker removal of these me thinks!
  15. Whats with scrap cars being in places you cover, surely that can not be a place name?
  16. Tonight's joy, lifted it's root plait(what there Was of 1) and hung up in trees at opposite side. Police closed the road for us to drop it, big step cut and yank the bottom of with the winch till it fell. Couldn't belive it but while we were actually winching it down a Car pulles up at the cones, Driver gets out and kicks a few cones out of the way shifts the police Road closed sign and drives towards us, luckily the tree dropped just as he set off and missed his bonnet by about 5ft - clean pants probably needed. Copper wouldn't tell me what was said but I guess he'll be having to pay the station a visit in the next few days.
  17. Had the bigger brutes come into out yard barn last week and chew the rubber around the truck gear stick and chew a hole in my new arbpro jacket, war was instantly declared and poison bait boxes went down. I thought it was only 1 but 7 bags went in 1 night so recon it could have been more but hopefully that should have stunted them for now. Mice I can put up with, rat's are a definite no no!
  18. Yeh to many items far too cheap on his list there! If it was genuine I'd be interested in a few things but not worth the risk without laying eyes on the things 1st!
  19. What's the ground conditions like? Would something like a genie boom self propelled rough terrain boom do as quick to reposition, cheep over a long hire and can have very good reach. Lots of the big hire companies have a good range of them ready to go.
  20. Still doing the big complicated stuff Paul but getting the lads to do more as the skills improve. I'd boshed the top of this one then ben went up to chog the stem which will be the biggest he's done yet. I still do most of the cherrypicker work but that's because I try to discourage cut and hold but sometimes in a basket it's just got to be done to be quick within reason.
  21. Not beeline but 9mm arb pro line which is a much higher rating so hopefully should be OK but if I suddenly stop posting I was wrong
  22. 2 big Pines yesterday Rope only just say long enough to strip the 1st to help rig the 2nd that had a compromise root plate. Lots of chip with rb full and trailer full, so glad the timber was stopping!
  23. Could you please post up a picture of your zigzag rench set up. Good video, thanks for posting.
