  1. How many times has a customer come out with cups of tea all round, and you just think , can I be arsed to go down and then climb back up. Well, add an ART lockjack to the system and your thirst will most definitely be quenched. Its a doddle
  2. Like I say, I learnt an important lesson. I still do it, regularly. Im more careful though. DONT GRAB HOLD OF DEAD BRANCHES!!! - Doh!
  3. And also how many injurys or close shaves have you had? Can you count them? If not, may be one might be classed as 'not that good' I would say Im fairly not so bad in a way, at climbing. but I did once fall about 30 - 40 feet from being a stupid arse fee climbing for 'ease and speed'. Fortunately, landed on my feet with my stupid arse in the middle of a mock orange and I didnt break my back. Hurt my feet a bit though, broke a metatarsal. Didnt die though!! Does that make me a crap climber though. Id say I learnt an important lesson. Theres always room for improvement.
  4. I was just about to ask if anybody knew the answer to that. Thank you
  5. what about 'shopping lists?'. D'you think you can manage to place orders?
  6. Ah... Locks!! Noted. Sorry, back on thread, I have found a bit of a pain now and then ( I do play tennis too). I borrowed my mums tennis elbow support thingy which seemed to help. It basically is a strap around the arm below the elbow with a lump of plastic putting pressure on the outside of the arm, near to but opposite where you'd have a blood test, if that makes sense. (in that groove, have a feel). Thats if I had it on right anyway, but it seemed to help after a while. You do have to wear it for a while and may feel no difference for a while, as in a month or so when doing 'shopping'. And a bit like not standing up with bent knees and straining, just be careful and thoughtful about each and every manoeuvre with your arm and youll probably nip it in the bud.
  7. Its not so much that we wonder WHY you are on Arbtalk so much, just a question of HOW?
  8. sorry to say ive got to give it a miss. off to the lakes for the weekend which has apparently been planned for ages !?! i suppose at least I'll save £3!!! Have a good day though - Im sure you will.
  9. Hope you're not entertaining. Farting all night, and I don't think there'll be much kissing in the morning!!
  10. Many congrats. Ive still got the sleepless nights going on for my first time. You obviously thrive on it!! All the best.
  11. Certainly hope to be there again. Was a good laugh last time. Just have to see what the waarf and t'little un have to say first. Screaming baby all day all week and she might just want a hand on the Saturday (or she might run away screaming herself) Unfortunately I can't bring little un cos I don't have the ability to feed her if you know what I mean.
  12. Don't you just think the money is not an issue but your satisfaction is far greater, and gets stronger and stronger. And then that's it. Cracked.
  13. Especially as it is so obvious, from the picture, where it is being so carefully looked after.
  14. Precisely. It's not so much to do with parts that's expensive but the down time fixing. My entec was cheap but easily serviced and fairly well maintained and did a lot of work. Having said that, when it was a bit tired I got a Jensen and I love that. But it's a lot more powerful. It's also a big lump to pull around for small jobs.
  15. You could do with an empty box to go with it. Packaging is always important - whatever it is.
  16. I've been wondering today whilst chipping quite a lot of willow. If there is a high content of salicylic acid (aspirin starting product) in willow, would it be injested or inhaled and have any effect. ie. No headache. A hard one to test I know but was just a thought. Could be handy for keeping heart disease away.
  17. But is there anywhere to buy this piece of wire as a separate part. Or will any bit of wire do, with common sense obviously.
  18. It looks like a good crown lift. At least no spikes were used!!
  19. Remember that everybody will be enjoying themselves and will all wish the best for you and will laugh at your gags... They don't have to be that funny. And remember to try to pause to let them laugh. You'll enjoy it hopefully. It's one of the best days of your life and you'll have things that you WANT to say to and about your new wife. No need to make things up
  20. A bit like DuraFlame logs. I think they were a byproduct of a pencil factory in the US weren't they. Chips might just need a bit more wax. How about some conifer resin to bind it?
  21. So are you gonna just drop it in one from about 15 foot and then just roll it over a couple of times down to the chipper.
  22. Just signed in as Sir Sykes - they always fall for that one.
  23. Just a bit of fun, couldnt resist taking a photo. Sometimes, its better than TV!
  24. But can I be bothered? Just buy Bosch
  25. Mine only seem to have been a problem with a 200T. Normal saws don't seem to make the alloy cap come loose. Even if you nip it up when putting a new one on they still vibrate loose and the thread is knackered by the time the saw is running funny. Bosch, never happened.
