  3. stunning bench 18 stoner..... i would say around the £260 mark, due to the wood you used..... could you not use wooden plugs to put it together ? the metal bolts are not easy on the eye. nice design.... thank you for showing use

  8. the scum bags are doing the rounds on the ways up to a big horse fair next weekend....so they`ll be on the robb on the way up to sell it. i`ve had them up my yard over the weeks and the last time sent them packing using the dogs !!!

  10. have you thought about the TA ? i was in for 5 years and loved it. you get the best of both worlds. how old are you ashwell ?
  11. all of it is now contracted out to large ground maintenance companys, i do some work on a few air bases but thats only a few times a year, through a company.

    hedge laying

    .... most of the types of laying are pritty easy, but midland is the hardest. what takes the skill is the binding on top (midland) what to cut out of the hedge and what to leave in. myself and some friends are thinking about teaching it would people be interested ? have a look at the hedgelaying sociaty
  13. i`ve got my self a MS200 with rear handle, excellent power to weight ratio, very light and brilliant doing coppice work. Im currently doing coppice work with it on sweet chestnut and finding it a good little saw.

    yep, coutless other local contractors have not got a good word to say about him. i for one do`nt realy know the company, but i trust the others that have said so. i put my hands up if thats out of order. where abouts are you jonny ?

    hornbeam,beech,feild maple or good old blackthorn....plus with the blck thorn it`s a joy to hedge lay with. try SELECT or Farm Forestry.. good luck
  18. had the same problem with my two.....ended up getting rid of them a got my self a new saw !
  19. interesting thread..... when i was at college there was no fitness test and i beleave that there should`nt. most people have never climbed until they join college, the more they climb the fitter they get. All good climbers are good groundsman first !
  20. i do plenty of hedgelaying and did`nt know you could get acccreditation.... where in east anglia are you Bundle ?.....and there was me thinking it was a rural skill passed on ?

    Recession?

    im finding the private work has gone throught the roof...evertone needs there hedges trimmed etc, but the bigger stuff has dried up a lot. seem to be getting a lot of parrish and church work at the mo... thank god for my regulars and it just goes to show, you look after them and they`ll look after you.
  24. SUNDAYS are sacred, i bet they would`nt like bing called on a sunday..as for dicounts do`nt get me started..."could you just knock the VAT off" how about NO !!
