  3. cheers for the replies i will crack on with the other thread cheers for pointing it out as i didn't see it:001_cool:
  4. i am starting this thread as yesterday in work i felt under pressure to work on a tree where there was a nest and an egg in it! something felt weird when i threw the throw bag into the tree and hit a bird sending it flying out: when i got into the tree i came across the nest, i shouted down to work mates about the nest and what to do? personally i believe in karma and i want to go home at the end of the day without killing or breaking anything :001_smile:opinion was devided but i felt pressurised to carry on with the lift. i covered the nest and carried on with the work doing my best to protect the nest and leave branch network covering it! I finished the lift and the egg and nest survived. so after that waffle the questions running round my head were where do i stand as the climber? what and where can i find info on tree work and birds? what are my legal obligations? should i have carried out the work? if not how do i put it to my boss? sorry if i sound stupid and appologise if i should know this however i now work for a company where as before i worked for myself and if there was a nest/eggs then i would leave the job and return when the nest had been flown:001_smile: thanks for reading my waffle
  5. i buy skating trainers for comfort and i hate spending the money on them (around £45) but they last ages:001_cool:
  6. the ones you are doing sound horrific however (i will wait for the shocked comments) i enjoy working on conifer and get a weird satisfaction from doing a good reduction with a great rounded shoulder using my felcos:001_smile:
  7. In swansea clyne woods there was a disease that spread through the rhody collection and certain other trees and had to be incinerated on site. We knew one of the workers and they were using an incinerator on site. It was an incinerator that was used in the BSE, Foot and mouth no smoke and burnt very quickly. He also said that it was so hot that if we put a body in there it would all go! didn't mess with him.
  8. got called a cowboy the other day whilst up a street tree by a 10yr old kid hanging outta of tipper full of scrap with an irish accent. only one thing i could do was laugh:001_smile:
  9. all those rips and tares (coronet)thought that was all the rage in englandshire:001_tongue:
  10. highland should i start a thread! do you fill out paper work to 1) protect your employees. 2)to cover your own ass!! but adding 3) protecting my employees, my business and my ass! that would make sense that was my original point.
