  9. sorry also nothing worse than a dreamy or incompetent person on the floor:scared1: a good person on the ground with a grasp of what the climber is doing or wants to achieve is esential when doing any rigging

  14. hi drew i have been using your bridge idea from the first two photos: just got to say thanks for posting the photos as i find the set up is amazing for climbing. One thing at present is that i am climbing street tree pollards and i have to re anchor alot at the mo so the prussic on the line is a possible snag hazard. any ideas on how to sort the change out quicker? If not i am so impressed i will carry on regardless cheers again drew for sharing the photos thats why i love this site
  15. its easy to quote for a friend but as for friends of friends don't worry about it! did similar around two weeks ago brother in laws brother in law wanted 3 conifers taken down. I gave him a realistic price for a days work and removing all the arisings and told him the discount i was giving him. He thought it was cheaper to damage his garden and waste 3 days of his life carting the stuff away on a tiny trailer:001_smile: i won't lose any sleep infact i had a good laugh over it
  16. after learning on a blakes and prussic and working with an old school climber for a few years i thought that was it! then i found this site and i havn't looked back i first tried a vt took a little while but loved the arm over arm movement. Then one of the boys in work swears by the lock jack so i tried that and used it everytime i climbed, took a bit of trust:scared1: now i have gone back to the vt with an extendable bridge ( a bit like my lockjack setup) which was on another thread and wow i think i will stick with the vt and extending bridge. what i like with both setups is using spikes and practically running up the pole whilst groundy pulls on the rope:001_tt1:
  17. yeah but where do you put the cut off? as in i could come back in from the pop around 3 and put a post on! would that class as a morning post! maybe i am thinking about it too much:scared1:
  18. cheers dean!i am off work tomorrow but when i am in thurs i will take some photos of our set up it is similar but means you can get further adjustments to the bridge length
  19. me and another member of arbtalk went to do a job on a local council estate and there was human feaces everywhere. I couldn't figure out why there was toilet and normal papers everywhere covered in it! disgusting how some people live. plus andy has photos:001_tt1:
  20. i think Mr. bullman is on a mission to take over the arb industry how has he made it so addictive? please i need to know:001_tt1:
  21. sat here this morning floating round arbtalk and got me wondering who else on a regular basis checks arbtalk with their brekkie? with my daughter being a minx in the mornings i find myself on here regularly:001_smile: so is it down to being an early riser? or just arbtalk addiction?
  22. have you got any photos of that set up dean would like a looksie cheers james
  23. do you use an extendable bridge with your lock jack dean? one of the boys in work introduced it and i find it makes the lock jack more user friendly alot like the first pictures.
  24. will power is all you need:sad: it is tough but you feel the benefits nearly straight away and if you crack it and think in a few months time you can get away with one you have had it! Like an alcoholic you can't just have one imo. still think about it especially when i am on the ground watching another climber:001_smile: however you crack it good luck
  25. good call treeworld:001_tt1:
