  1. whereabouts are you patrick?
  2. who drove the van? butch or sundance?
  3. stu, if you're at askham bryan college get yourself to harlands at green hammerton. they'll sort you out with advice and a discount, if not you could try ripoff (ripon) farm services.
  4. monkeyd, on the stihl cans with the auto cut-off spouts, the oil one is a white-grey colour and the petrol is black so they can't be confused but they can be if you're not concentrating or are distracted.
  5. sorry rupe, i dont really follow the markets but when you look at the fact that each car is sold at a loss and there was all the merchandise for the veyron it was just a marketing exercise and an engineering feasibility study just to see if it could be done. I bet most of VW's money comes from skoda sales. For the merchandising , just look at the bottom of the page although i think the watch they made was going too far.
  6. isn't the koenigsegg a road going gt inspired car and as such is quicker than the veyron which is basically an exrcise in loss making and marketing? Sorry to be such a cynic at this time on a sunday morning
  7. i'm helping john and margaret out where i can as well. After all thats part of what arbtalk is about isn't it?
  8. i would have thought the shits would be the effect:scared1:
  9. or put a plastic bag in eh dean?
  10. i was done over in march. LS14
  11. you could have made a bit on the side selling that mistletoe at the big auction
  12. we were taught the basics when i was at houghall but then again one of my instructors was paul elcoat so no surprises really. I can just about remember some of them especially the ones for communicating with the climber regarding the last branch he dropped in the middle of the most antisocial bush in the world:001_tongue:
  13. was down at my local B&Q yesterday picking up some bits and bobs and was having a nose round when i saw that they are now stocking "forestry" helmets and chainsaw gloves. Has somebody at head office been reading all the rants about how irresponsible they were not selling these and decided to take action or has Arbtalk managed to plant a mole at the offices to push this through?
  14. get down to B&Q, they're selling gloves and helmets cheap at long last. All they need to do now is say that they won't sell a chainsaw without these items and start selling seatless chainsaw trousers. Allthough thats for another thread i think.
  15. better than your mog,skyhuck?

    Portable winch

sorry about that monkeyd, i keep forgetting that some of the older members of this forum will have memories of the monkey winch as piece of everyday kit, i only remember using one at college a couple of times and that was bad enough.
  17. not to mention you're going to need a bigger winch unless you get skyhucks mog and skidding winch on it

    Portable winch

how about a trewhella monkey winch? although i think dean's winch that he found is a tad more up to date!!
  20. tom, is that the fendt xylon or an earlier version of it?
  21. on the note of spike, her's another of his written during the korean war: The Young Soldiers Why are they lying in some distant land Why did they go, did they understand? Young men they were Young men they stay But why did we send them away, away? i'd like to dedicate this to all the lads and ladies who have fallen since the poem was written.
  22. the lad coming down the handrail and straight under the car was a bit shocking. the fire at the fireworks factory was certainly impressive and the little car towing the twin axle caravan just proves the laws of gravity: what goes up must come down.
  23. like trying to fertilise a field with a fart. as nervous as a very short nun at the start of the penguin shooting season. as welcome as a sausage roll at a bar mitzvah. apologies in advance:scared1: roll her in flour and look for the wet spot. not saying she's fat but her graduation photo was taken from a helicopter.
