  1. so what about visiting hospitals!!! join the sheep or head on in without a mask!!???
  2. if you want to get the stump out your self then id say digging and chopping at the roots is the way forward. plus id be carefull when using the winch to put up to 10 tons of force on, if one of the components is not up to it, it could be lethal.
  3. at 2m high could you not cut them small enough to pass down?
  4. pretty much the same as mine although i used one of those tiny dmm xsre krabs for the footloop.
  5. worked fine today.
  6. i took the flywheel off and the molded key was bust , my boss managed to line it up and it fired up ok , we havent used it properly yet but hopefully its fine. thanks for your help, carl
  7. we have a stihl br 350 blower at work that would not start, i had a look at it the spark looked faint and when i looked under the casing a stone had got jammed in between the ignition module and the flywheel, its scored the flywheel a bit. could the fly wheel have rotated on the shaft knocking the timing out?? i want to try and check/test components before buying replacments as some of these parts arnt so cheap. thanks carl

    Covid-19

sounds like a tough job, fair play
  9. ask them where they want it reduced to then suggest that a bit higher would be better for the tree, then when they say they would prefer it lower, just say the usual rot pockets epicormic growth etc, then reduce to their wishes and dont post the work in the " reduction thread" not ideal but not exactly a specimen tree to get to moral over. carl
  10. being a cynic id take those statistics with a pinch of salt!!
  11. anyway back to the thread!! 1- blake livley. 2- marrion cottilard. 3- helena bonham carter.
  12. what about the ten thousand dead in italy alone!!!??? is that all down to the way the filthy Italians live! i think the blame game is a road to nowhere and face the fact this virus is calling the shots the world over. self preservation , social distancing, isolation and care for the vunerable is the way forward not racist generalizations imo. carl
  13. i think this sort of thing is really scary and invasive and peoples readiness to accept is surprises me.
  14. i wonder about other avenues such as deliveries with your truck?? i imagine arb stuff is only going to get quieter. hope you get sorted. carl
  15. in the republic of ireland they are giving anyone who has stopped work due to the virus ( not actually having contracted it) €350 a week. this is employed or self employed!! i can see serious income tax hikes down the line, but in fairness they havent messed about at all in trying to help those out of work.
  16. yes i was thinking that, which would take care of the hot water from the stove but i also want the stove to help run the rads. iam still just going over different link up options (seems to be loads!) thanks carl
  17. cool thanks, its a bit more than the dunsley although the dunsley doesnt look that technical for the money and i believe you have to get other stuff with it. good instructions would be very welcome as this is all new to me! thanks again for your replies.
  18. i had been looking at those a bit but wondered if they where a bit high tech for my needs and maybe i could get away with something cheaper. i take it you are happy with they way it has worked? thanks ill have another closer look at the product. thanks. carl.
  19. has anyone fitted or got one of these on their stove?? iam about to start to fit a basic oil boiler, open vented central heating system in a small cottage and im hoping to add a woodburner with backboiler at a later date and have this linked into the heating and hot water system in a safe and fairly simple manner ( as iam hoping to do most of it myself) would i be better fitting the neutraliser now and blanking ports off or just forget about it until i fit the wood burner? any other simple lowish budget link up suggestions welcome. thanks carl
  20. we use a 8x4 plant trailer for the tracked chipper, fits on perfectly and is nice and compact for narrow roads and peoples drives etc. i can see the logic in a bigger tipping trailer being more useful , but the little plant trailer is dead handy for daily use.
  21. probably hasnt had that much through it although i have had it a while now. it does the job fine just not as snappy as the stihl.
  22. to the OP are you planning on using a 16" bar on this echo tophandle saw?? i have an echo 360t that came with a 14" bar and it was very slow in the cut, i swapped it for a 12" bar and it is better but still a little slow. so imo a 16" bar would be a no go. we have the stihl 201tcms at work and we have found them to be reliable and have good cutting performance. i got the echo for my own jobs because it was cheap, but it does fall short of the stihls in performance imo. i paid €350 euro for my echo so bearing that in mind iam very happy with it. carl
  23. seriously nice workmanship on that conversion, fair play, rare to see hard woods in that style on smaller conversions. seems a shame to sell it,

    plumbers?

thanks for the replies, having googled in i think you are right about the inside/ diameter thing, so they are pretty similar so i will chance the metric benders. i have never worked with copper pipe before but as im going to try and put in a basic central heating system i will have to use a bit of it. thanks again. carl

    plumbers?

i am trying to buy a set of copper pipe benders, in ireland the pipe sizes are imperial ie 1/2" and 3/4" and all of the pipe benders i have seen on the net (ireland included) are metric 15mm and 22mm. will these metric ones bend my imperial pipe? thanks carl
