  1. thanks for all the replies, we found out that it did still creep when switched off, very slowly as in hard to tell if its moving at all. would one of the drive brakes not hold it? could they both be worn? can you service the drive motor brakes? its not too bad at the moment but i guess it will only get worse with time, so hope to get it fixed before we find it wedged against the clients range rover!! thanks again carl
  2. we have a tracked jensen 530 chipper, we were using it on a steepish tarmac drive and noticed it had crept forwards right up against the landrover, it also crept the other way when we tried it, very slowly. any ideas, iam guessing leaking valve or something ? thanks carl
  3. would love a play with that!!! would the crane lift much ?
  4. come on dont be coy, we,ve read your posts lately , " shopping for butter without a mask , maybe start a revolution!!!" oz. or grams you tell us??
  5. the best of the best!!!
  6. its kinda ironic all these arborists whinging over wearing a mask, everyday arb gear worn to improve safety is not exactly high comfort is it (despite the cool write up on the website!) i wasnt that keen on the whole mask wearing thing but an unseen event mean i had to travel on an airplane and spend time in a hospital, sure it wasnt so comfy but totally do able. masks might not be 100% effective all the time but better than nothing( seatbelts arnt either but you still always put one on! )
  7. so what about visiting hospitals!!! join the sheep or head on in without a mask!!???
  8. if you want to get the stump out your self then id say digging and chopping at the roots is the way forward. plus id be carefull when using the winch to put up to 10 tons of force on, if one of the components is not up to it, it could be lethal.
  9. at 2m high could you not cut them small enough to pass down?
  10. pretty much the same as mine although i used one of those tiny dmm xsre krabs for the footloop.
  11. worked fine today.
  12. i took the flywheel off and the molded key was bust , my boss managed to line it up and it fired up ok , we havent used it properly yet but hopefully its fine. thanks for your help, carl
  13. we have a stihl br 350 blower at work that would not start, i had a look at it the spark looked faint and when i looked under the casing a stone had got jammed in between the ignition module and the flywheel, its scored the flywheel a bit. could the fly wheel have rotated on the shaft knocking the timing out?? i want to try and check/test components before buying replacments as some of these parts arnt so cheap. thanks carl

    Covid-19

sounds like a tough job, fair play
  15. ask them where they want it reduced to then suggest that a bit higher would be better for the tree, then when they say they would prefer it lower, just say the usual rot pockets epicormic growth etc, then reduce to their wishes and dont post the work in the " reduction thread" not ideal but not exactly a specimen tree to get to moral over. carl
  16. being a cynic id take those statistics with a pinch of salt!!
  17. anyway back to the thread!! 1- blake livley. 2- marrion cottilard. 3- helena bonham carter.
  18. what about the ten thousand dead in italy alone!!!??? is that all down to the way the filthy Italians live! i think the blame game is a road to nowhere and face the fact this virus is calling the shots the world over. self preservation , social distancing, isolation and care for the vunerable is the way forward not racist generalizations imo. carl
  19. i think this sort of thing is really scary and invasive and peoples readiness to accept is surprises me.
  20. i wonder about other avenues such as deliveries with your truck?? i imagine arb stuff is only going to get quieter. hope you get sorted. carl
  21. in the republic of ireland they are giving anyone who has stopped work due to the virus ( not actually having contracted it) €350 a week. this is employed or self employed!! i can see serious income tax hikes down the line, but in fairness they havent messed about at all in trying to help those out of work.
  22. yes i was thinking that, which would take care of the hot water from the stove but i also want the stove to help run the rads. iam still just going over different link up options (seems to be loads!) thanks carl
  23. cool thanks, its a bit more than the dunsley although the dunsley doesnt look that technical for the money and i believe you have to get other stuff with it. good instructions would be very welcome as this is all new to me! thanks again for your replies.
  24. i had been looking at those a bit but wondered if they where a bit high tech for my needs and maybe i could get away with something cheaper. i take it you are happy with they way it has worked? thanks ill have another closer look at the product. thanks. carl.
  25. has anyone fitted or got one of these on their stove?? iam about to start to fit a basic oil boiler, open vented central heating system in a small cottage and im hoping to add a woodburner with backboiler at a later date and have this linked into the heating and hot water system in a safe and fairly simple manner ( as iam hoping to do most of it myself) would i be better fitting the neutraliser now and blanking ports off or just forget about it until i fit the wood burner? any other simple lowish budget link up suggestions welcome. thanks carl
