  1. I agree especially with the last sentence. Obviously im not a trained professional in this field but who is!
  2. We will be going. Its little compensation to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice to give up their lives for a better cause.
  3. Got to love a bit of Harry Enfield. There isnt much decent comedy in these parts these days, no wonder we all hate the current celebs. Its currently a wash with shite 'reality' song and drama TV which is a bloody sad state of affairs. I suppose all it proves is that im getting old as I dont like it!
  4. Anyone who has got a bit of talent, not that I'm bitter or anything like, although I never liked Jimmy Krankie he just wasn't funny. Oh an Bungle was well annoying.
  5. Im thinking of getting this engraved on my tombstone next week. Well, hopefully not next week but it will be if I have to watch that TV program.
  6. Hey its this or X factor.
  7. Now that sounds like a plan.. Ooops, looks like it went down hill fairly quickly! I think matelot and vespian could got some of their points across better if they didn't sound like crazy hating crazymen. You really are not doing yourselves a favour. Honesty you sound like a big fat white texan shouting that black men are eating our women and sleeping with our food.
  8. http://://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-41855180 They should have just flushed him down the bog.
  9. I don't know if it has been mentioned but did you take the job on letting the boss know that you want to start climbing? Otherwise he may just want/need a brash dragger rather than spend time and money training you up. I would spend as much time as possible practicing climbing, at lunch times, after work, weekends etc.
  10. Thank God times have changed, at least it wasn't a 4 pack of skol. It's good that we always want more, it spurs the human race on, otherwise we would still be living in mud huts eating grunge. My wages have allways gone up year on year, although not as much as I would like!
  11. That last bit about being replaced by a table is priceless.
  12. That sounds like a low character for sure. Good to see sense prevailed in the courts though. Looks like it doesn't happen very often though in regards to only one reply, which is good.
  13. I'm sure you will be fine but I know more than a few firms who have done the same only to be greeted by a letter from the liquidators. They all fell into the subby bashing trap of doing more and more work, chasing invoices that the company they worked for knew where never getting paid as they were going bankrupt on xxxx date. Or knew that they could bankrupt the firm they were hiring in by holding back payment. So a word of warning, don't trust anyone and don't tell them if you are in financial difficulty. Sorry to be negative but I've seen it happen plenty of times and it's happened to us once but at least we pulled out when they only owed us a£1000
  14. I don't know, the getting covered in molten metal bit would put me off. Sounds like it's been quite nasty in some parts, stay safe boys and girls, then smash those trees to get that speedboat.
  15. Well, that goes without saying. So that's why beech hedge can retain a lot of leaves? That's something I never knew but did wonder about, everyday days a school day.
  16. Have you ever been sued (includes paying damages before court action) by a client, employee an insurance company or other third party? Just wondering if it has ever happened, I guess it must have but I have never heard of it. Also applies to the LOLER/trainer/inspector etc side of the industry. If so some details please.
  17. I think that will lead me on to a new thread. I guess the percentage of insures paying out when it comes to the crunch is fairly low if non excistant.
  18. Now that is an answered thread.
  19. I know but, my insurance assured me that my PLI was valid even though I didnt have ELI as at the time I didnt have any employees, I could still operate in the eyes of the law. I have never had to claim so I cant confirm the above No offence but I think there is too much hearsay in regards to insurance. I would like to hear from anyone that has had an accident and their insurance hasn't paid out. Full facts please. So, in standing with the chocolate teapot circumnavigating the earth, show me an insurance claim that has refused to pay out the PLI on the grounds of not having ELI. Well it is Sunday night and we only have work to look forward to in the morning
  20. They are two different things though. I have always had pli even when subbing/freelancing/being an employed freelance subby, and eli as and when. My insurance sure as eggs took my money but did assure me I was covering third parties no matter what. Both very important though. I would hate to cause a life changing injury to someone and them not be properly compensated.
  21. You mean to say you haven't got one already?
  22. Did it look like this?
  23. I hope that counseling will include any distraught parents!?
  24. That, minus a tenner,BOOM jobs mine!

    Ouch.

Horrible accident that one! Hope he wasn't too badly injured but I don't like his odds. Other video is a cracker of a job though. I wouldn't want to do either of them.
