  1. Jeesh, no wonder it is called crypo! Anything that is that difficult to use is open for abuse imo. Banking is simple and paypal is simple, both will insure me if they get hacked into, does bitcoin do the same? If this kind of electronic currency becomes the norm then I expect the current banking system to fail which means no more banks which means no more cash. From what I have read a cashless society has many negatives so I can't see this being allowed to happen. I think I will stick to banking, better than keeping it under my mattress, one break in and I would be ruined. Easy access 24hours a day which can be accessed anywhere in the world, what more could you ask for!
  2. That depends. Do people buy a non listed building then someone else decides it should become a listed building?
  3. Ditto, they shouldnt have to take out insurance to prevent being stabbed in the back. I would be absolutely livid if I got a pro tree firm in to take a tree down and they decided to get a TPO placed on it! TBH, I cant believe that TPO's can be placed on trees without the owners consent, it is ridiculous IMO. Not only does the tree owner have to live with something they dont want they now have to pay for the privilege of keeping it there ie, yearly/ biannually tree reports to keep in with the insurance, general maintenance etc, all because someone else likes the thing but doesnt have to put up with it! Never have had any problems with taking a tree out whatever or wherever it is if that's what the customer wants. I have though on plenty of occasions advised against removal if not necessary ie owner thinks its dangerous and thinks it needs felling, on advice about the health of the tree they change their minds.
  4. How many logs had you burnt before you realised?
  5. What would you do, leave it in?
  6. Now, thats comedy! It will be very interesting to look back here in 18 months ish to see how it all panned out. Hopefully the UK will be the cock of Europe and everyone else is reflecting on how badly they backed the wrong horse.
  7. Looks like my link was removed by those fat cats in Washington so I am reposing it. Have you heard?
  8. I agree especially with the last sentence. Obviously im not a trained professional in this field but who is!
  9. We will be going. Its little compensation to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice to give up their lives for a better cause.
  10. Got to love a bit of Harry Enfield. There isnt much decent comedy in these parts these days, no wonder we all hate the current celebs. Its currently a wash with shite 'reality' song and drama TV which is a bloody sad state of affairs. I suppose all it proves is that im getting old as I dont like it!
  11. Anyone who has got a bit of talent, not that I'm bitter or anything like, although I never liked Jimmy Krankie he just wasn't funny. Oh an Bungle was well annoying.
  12. Im thinking of getting this engraved on my tombstone next week. Well, hopefully not next week but it will be if I have to watch that TV program.
  13. Hey its this or X factor.
  14. Now that sounds like a plan.. Ooops, looks like it went down hill fairly quickly! I think matelot and vespian could got some of their points across better if they didn't sound like crazy hating crazymen. You really are not doing yourselves a favour. Honesty you sound like a big fat white texan shouting that black men are eating our women and sleeping with our food.
  15. http://://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-41855180 They should have just flushed him down the bog.
  16. I don't know if it has been mentioned but did you take the job on letting the boss know that you want to start climbing? Otherwise he may just want/need a brash dragger rather than spend time and money training you up. I would spend as much time as possible practicing climbing, at lunch times, after work, weekends etc.
  17. Thank God times have changed, at least it wasn't a 4 pack of skol. It's good that we always want more, it spurs the human race on, otherwise we would still be living in mud huts eating grunge. My wages have allways gone up year on year, although not as much as I would like!
  18. That last bit about being replaced by a table is priceless.
  19. That sounds like a low character for sure. Good to see sense prevailed in the courts though. Looks like it doesn't happen very often though in regards to only one reply, which is good.
  20. I'm sure you will be fine but I know more than a few firms who have done the same only to be greeted by a letter from the liquidators. They all fell into the subby bashing trap of doing more and more work, chasing invoices that the company they worked for knew where never getting paid as they were going bankrupt on xxxx date. Or knew that they could bankrupt the firm they were hiring in by holding back payment. So a word of warning, don't trust anyone and don't tell them if you are in financial difficulty. Sorry to be negative but I've seen it happen plenty of times and it's happened to us once but at least we pulled out when they only owed us a£1000
  21. I don't know, the getting covered in molten metal bit would put me off. Sounds like it's been quite nasty in some parts, stay safe boys and girls, then smash those trees to get that speedboat.
  22. Well, that goes without saying. So that's why beech hedge can retain a lot of leaves? That's something I never knew but did wonder about, everyday days a school day.
  23. Have you ever been sued (includes paying damages before court action) by a client, employee an insurance company or other third party? Just wondering if it has ever happened, I guess it must have but I have never heard of it. Also applies to the LOLER/trainer/inspector etc side of the industry. If so some details please.
  24. I think that will lead me on to a new thread. I guess the percentage of insures paying out when it comes to the crunch is fairly low if non excistant.
  25. Now that is an answered thread.
