  1. i`ve got no issue with the strikers, but i was a bit annoyed yesterday morning, i was on my way to work and came to road closed and diversion signs, so after a hell of a detour it turns out that a horse had been hit by a vehicle the night before and killed, but because the council guys were on strike they couldnt remove the horse and the road remained closed, the annoying thing was that a policeman was sat in his car further back down the road by a roundabout, instead of turning the traffic round there, people were driving up a fair stretch of road only to have to turn round and come all the way back, (sorry for derailing the clarkson thing)
  2. just aquired a nice length of monkey puzzle, just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what woodturners would pay for it, do i sell it per foot?
  3. An elderly british gentleman of 83 arrived in Paris by plane, at the French customs he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry bag, "you have been to Paris before monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically, the elderly gentleman admitted he had been to France previously, "then you should know enough to `ave your passport ready" the customs officer said. The elderly gent replied "the last time i was here i didnt have to show it". "impossible! the British always have to show their passports on arrival in France!" The man gave the Frenchman a long hard look, then he quietly explained "well when i came ashore on the beach on D-Day in 1944 i couldnt find any bl**dy Frenchmen to show it too...! Wear your poppy with pride.

  12. If your looking for sewers i used to use a method, lift the manhole cover and attach some electric fencing wire to the end of some drain rods, shove the rods up the drain then with a cat and genny attach the genny to the wire and trace it as you would a cable.

    School Prom.

my daughter had her prom last week and when we turned up to see her VOSA were pulling in all the limos, one had to be taken away on a tow truck because of defective brakes, frightening when you think our kids are travelling in them.

  24. did a job today and the customer comes out with the usual one liner "while your here could you", she wanted me to chip a small pile of laurel branches that her husband had cut a few months earlier, after the first few branches i came across a blackbirds nest with four chicks in, i placed the nest in a nearby bush and within 10 minutes the parents were back to their feeding routine, didnt expect to see a nest in a pile of dead branches but glad to say parents and chicks are doing well.
