  1. My apologies for a annoying post, but I have been searching and trawling after a posts for a while..... Im looking for a post with a reversed humboltnotch that swung a tree round... 3. Last week i had closed 2 roads around 2 sides of a park cause we were straigthfelling big birches onto one of the roads. For safety we had closed the adjoining road to direct the traffic around the park and put up proper signage and blocked half the road with a metal "gate" and cones on the other side (for easy access for emergency services if needed) 13een cars used the lawn and the footpath to pass the closure i stopped and yelled at four of them! They all said that i was using inadequate signage and not proper closure!?!? A sign with "WARNING Mines ahead would have been useful!

  17. Dito SweKip! I use a olderversion of on some trees, even the combination with wedges has helped me on heavy backleaners. Costs a fair bit of dosh, but for forrestry its good and works well. In a bog....use a weight spreading board or an old car tyre rim cut in half...
  18. Well after a few nights with -5 celcius, the canopy aint looking too well:sneaky2: Sorry...I cant really recall, I think its coming down anyway cause a neighbour is having trouble with lack of sun in the garden.... Im a bit on my toes at the minute since a big maple branch fell over a busy street night between thursday and friday...which called for an emergency fell on the friday. Severe case of white rot...Dryads saddle and something I havent identified yet..think it is "Hericium coralloides" Been here just about 2 years and havent yet had the time to survey all the trees that needs to be. Will look at the rest of the trees in the avenue as I suspect there might be more with "problems":001_rolleyes: Well I turned it into a monolith of course! As far as I remember ( I first saw the tree 2 weeks ago) there was no evident sign of problems but the unusual funghus about 5 inches from the base of the tree. I will go back and see if there is any of it left and if it is still possible to get a whiff of it...
  19. Swedish funghus guide..."svampguiden.se":sneaky2: Yeah thats what I gathered when I searched the net...On stems, trunks, fallen trees etc hence my idea of the roots beeing dead... what u reckon, trees in danger of falling over:blushing:

  21. Thank you...i'll give it a whiff and see about the aniseessmell...no other signs of problem with the tree...roots dead? Why else would it grow there?
