  1. I was looking at the Eco one tony, they are extremely efficient, thirty percent beyond building regs requirements
  2. They last ok in the alps where weather goes from one extreme to another. The key is good quality slow grown spruce or pine with tight growth rings and proper attachment to foundations with no constant damp and the roofs always over hang to keep moisture off the walls
  3. I think the British have a thing for the security of bricks and mortar and it's getting over that mental block of thinking wood is temporary, when in fact, they can and do last hundreds of years
  4. I,m not sure but the other houses on their site are coming in at around £475 sq/m footprint where a normal house would be £1000 sq/m you can self build if you want I think erecting them is extra and foundations are extra, but the foundations would be easy to do and I would do slab foundations with underfloor heating linked to an external wood boiler like hucks
  5. Amazing u values and triple glazing as standard, if they are good enough for the French, they are good enough for me
  6. After browsing I am so tempted to sell up, have a luxury log home built, and still have enough left to be mortgage free. Search " log cabin homes " for some cracking sites. Here's good http://www.loghomescotland.co.uk
  7. Cheer Ed, I,m costing them against my Bandit which are around £100 a set I think, but the 540 are quite big blades I believe. Not too bad if you get a good few sharpens out of them but a bummer if you take a big chunk out of them with a nail. What are the service intervals ed ?
  8. That address is a little office at the bottom of the hill from me Edit: it actually the same building complex as my accountant
  9. How much are the blades per set..... £200ish ??
  10. The Aussies would pee themselves at some of the statements on this thread
  11. I,m a hacker.. There,s an albino stem in that pile
  12. The spaces in the chain get compacted with shavings and slows, hence the reason they more power output in comps to enable them to keep the pressure down otherwise you would have to let up off a little to help clear some crap then reapply pressure
  13. Trying to escape from London, managed to get to kings x, just got to get past the guards and on the train, should be a clear run to Leeds from there
  14. It works just the same as a plane but with a side cutter The point of the tooth and side plate cut the grain allowing the top plate or blade in the case of a plain, to take a shaving of which the thickness is regulated by the depth gauges. The tooth is taking a shaving off for the full length of the cut, but there is only so much room to store the waste or shaving hence jamming can occur in longer cuts
  15. You don't know who knows who and who's mates with who, some of my answers can come across as borderline until the reader realises I am best buddies with the recipient. Most of what you read is banter, we have a lot of get togethers and nights out at shows and stuff, so many on here are good friends
  16. thinking about getting a couple of these to rent out. They are £125k each and are supposed to last , quote: "as long as a house" just need to do some sums 45ft x 22ft
  17. Your nowt to do with me Rob, your ears aren't big enough (-;
  18. If I were spending so much money on a chipper, I would like a better description
  19. Girl sized plates for breakfast. See what I mean about london being full of foreigners (-:
  20. Cheers Ted One thing I have noticed is how small the portions are if you have a meal out. If you charged that much for food and put a girl sized portion in front of some bloke in Yorkshire, he'd most likely politely complain. Had a good day so far, normally everything goes wrong for me. This time all I,ve had to do is give some woman a stuffing for chatting to the ticket office clerk at the train station when there's a queue of 20 behind her and having to swap rooms at the hotel when they have us a room opposite the main lift Happy days
  21. Haha Mozza, Must be pee'd as well' I'm seeing triple
  22. The carrier bag / millennium dome lunge
