  1. Working for my neighbours over the road at the "Hall" and the "court" was a posh area till I moved in
  2. I reckon my eyesight will go well before that then (-:
  3. It's the tyre wear that concerns me, these bf Goodrich are a fortune
  4. I zeroed the milometer on the landy this week and when today is over I will have worked 4 full days this week, pruned 30 trees and taken down another 10 small ones and including tipping, travelling to and from work, I will have just over 2 miles on the clock
  5. Feeding them isn't going to do any harm. Is there a broad spectrum fertiliser and application method that will feed mainly the trees and not the grass ?
  6. I've no idea tbh, prunus is prunus to me (-: They are ornamental and have white to slightly pink blossom
  7. Normally "daughter" and "engine management light" means the bonnet has never been opened I have seen some big wide plastic link conveyer belting in a skip which would make good ventilated rack to store drying woodchip on
  8. Either way, if they do salt the drive, it's not good as it drains straight into the root area
  9. Good method... Measuring the dry weight after zapping and working out the moisture percentage from the weight difference
  10. No James, it's been there quite a while
  11. On all 30 trees, there were not one sign of any bleeding at all, all were totally clear
  12. Just as low as is easily achievable to get the most efficiency out of the boiler
  13. What method would you use to measure woodchip moisture content ? I'm presuming finding a big piece and sticking a moisture Meter into it isn't the best method. I'm looking into running a boiler that will run off my woodchip and other rubbish such as roots ect I'm also presuming storing woodchip under cover in smallish piles will dry woodchip sufficiently?
  14. These are the trees with prominent graft, there's a little bit of strimmer damage but nothing major
  15. Does anyone know if this leaf shows a lack of nutrients or nutrient. This is from an avenue of cherry trees that haven't been touched in years. I'm in the process of remedial pruning them all, taking out rubbing and crossing branches, I have noticed they are sparsely leafed. They have had something chewing on the leaves but not significantly. I'm just thinking they need a good feed??
  16. I lost faith in human nature years ago, the most selfish ignorant animals on the planet imo
  17. In hindsight, I should have stayed in the landrover and waited for someone else to get out of their car and clear the road
  18. It's happened to me twice once eight years ago and again last year. The one last year was half a street tree, i saw it going so braked hard and the bonnet of the landy ended up under the brash. Got out cut it all up and moved it to one side whilst all the other car drivers sat in the cars and watched, as soon as a gap opened up big enough to get a car through they were all off....leaving me to clear the mess. Humans....selfish scum the lot of em
  19. I was clearing some small trees yesterday and when I was doing the backcut I felt a splash on my had and cheek, when I looked, I had just cut through a small hogweed behind the stem hidden in the grass. Luckily there was a tap nearby where I immediately washed it off, so no symptoms today. Evil stuff
  20. Haha... No, I couldnt part with it now, they are so useful. The new ones lift up to 2 tons, Mine lifts a medium sized whole tree whatever weight that is
  21. A rival to the mog ? Albeit a mini version. Multihog - robust, diesel, multipurpose utility vehicle
  22. Watch out for the leylandii hedgetrimmer [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luY6bqrNHig&feature=youtube_gdata_player]multione.mp4 - YouTube[/ame]
