  1. It inflates to 8bar but will only need a couple of bar to lift a stem, I intend to make an adaptor so I can use a foot pump for ease of use, otherwise a divers bottle is used. My mate is into recovery so uses these a lot they are expensive unless you can pick them up used. This one is about 20" by 14" and I cadged it off him for £50 He did have some 90 ton ones Here's some detail Air Lifting Bags - Rescue Air Lifting Bags - Rescue Equipment | Fire Product Search

  8. Come on Jon, spill the beans......what have you been secretly spending your dish on ?
  9. Does anybody not think it is insect Caterpillars have been rife round here and cherries have been hit hard, one thing I have noticed is that on most of them the tip or exposed branches are less affected The sheltered lower portions of the crown have no leaf whilst the tips look ok This would suggest to me that the caterpillar, which hangs on a silk, thread didnt like the exposed part of the trees, plus early on the leaves were showing signs of being munched on I am convinced it is an epidemic of these caterpillars that has caused many cherries round here to be sparce
  10. It's the degree of bend in this case Dave
  11. Health and Safety is there to protect life. There was an unneccessarily high risk of someone losing theres or being seriously injured in this case. Totally justifiable fine IMO. How it was brought to the hse,s attention is another subject
  12. Why don't you just climb without trying to squeeze head .? Concentrate on relaxing the muscles your not supposed to be using, that's a lot of the reasoned pile get out of breathe and struggle, they are straining everything when there's no need to ..and worst of all, don't hold your breathe when you push.....sorry pull
  13. Haha..I normally file my chains any old how, it does make a big difference in performance for me to spend some time sharpening a chain instead of rushing it. One tip I learnt from 3dogs was to always do the last two strokes very lightly to get a better edge.
  14. That's the problem, it's manic, I shouldn't have time to even think about OCD chainsaw sharpening

  16. I sharpened a saw today using my digital verniers and just because I was bored I filed all the teeth to an exact length trying to hit the same measurement to within a thou I then thought I bet some saddo is more sadder than me, I bet someone has gone to extreme lengths to get a chain as sharp as it can be, by filing, honing and polishing the cutting edge.....I even consider myself a saddo, just for thinking about it Spuds not included because we already know he's a chainsaw geek
  17. Are Hornbeam susceptable to sun scorch or is this just out and out squirrel hooliganism. I first suspected the squirrels were taking advantage of loose bark caused by sun scorch after taking down a load of trees in front of these that we're shading them. I noticed though, that even round the back of the trees were being stripped and some were damaged that we're in the shade. The teeth mark are everywhere, definately been chewed off
