  1. Your such a spoil sport Steve, we could have had three pages of winding up
  2. I was having mega problems, turned out to be just one mole and haven't had trouble for twelve month. Catching a mole every couple of year should do the trick
  3. That's really cheap for talisker I'm just finishing off a bottle of Ardmore traditional cask so I can get started on a bottle of Glen Marnoch 18
  4. I,ve had record sales of softwood this year . Last year there were many customers asking for hardwood and saying to me, "there's no conifer in there is there?" "No" I said, "I keep all the conifer for myself" Which left them quite bewildered and asking why.
  5. No zap, more boooom. Explosives in action ?
  6. I've had the machine, too expensive. I found most people wanted to just do a straight bank transfer, which is free anyway so it rarely got used Handset rental SIM card rental Fees Not worth it
  7. Looks like something big and muddy reversed into it (-:
  8. Oh no...they've all got that silly exhaust emissions system on. I bet they are thousands when it comes to replace them
  9. Common spangle gall Cheers David, just been reading up on it as you posted
  10. Obviously on Oak, they come off easily leaving no mark
  11. I think the problem is the dealership, not the truck
  12. Just because a climber chooses to use a mechanical hitch doesn't mean him or her lack imagination or problem solving abilities.......your grasping at straws Tim Next you,ll be telling me they'll lose the ability to tie their own shoe laces Grasp away my friend, you'll soon have enough straws to make something from the blue Peter archives
  13. One reason when working roadside I always place the truck to force traffic out and away from the work zone and always be aware where the boom is in relation to the road
  14. Companies won't want climbers pishing about wasting time deciding whether to have two braids three wraps or three wraps two braids, 10mm or 8mm, liros or ocean, round crab or oval, gloves or no gloves. Just get up the bloody tree and prune it
  15. No it s not sucking air and I only really use the splitter on a short limited stroke so it should be ok
  16. Spot on Marc, I fell for the lock jack vids and I could never...no matter how much I tried...get it to work on a swing. It was jerky and went from full friction to no friction in a very tiny movement, so control is very difficult
  17. The reservoir tank is quite small, but it has a large oil cooler built into the system as standard I may have to add another tank however as the ram is so big, it uses a lot of oil out of the tank at full stroke.
  18. Success! It works like a dream now, very fast ram speed and even when it touches the Log and dumps the second pump it still a good splitting speed, really pleased with it. Hydraulics look a bit complex but it's really quite a simple circuit. One of the pumps is set at 500psi the second is set at 4000psi and it works a dream, the engine revs hardly change
  19. To be honest I didn't think much of them and thought the climbers in the petzl demo vid must have been practicing the leaps from branch to branch over and over for the final take. I soon realised that the zz can be as variable as a hitch you just need to know how to use it. I have found if you completely depress the little toggle lever at the very top, you can then use it just like a hitch and it can be as variable as a hitch, just grip the whole zigzag bit and treat it as you would a hitch You will have to give your hitches up at some point, everyone will be laughing at you in years to come. Its a bit like someone I know who has a favourite shovel, he won't give it up and get a new one (neigh lad, they dont make em like they used to Lad, it's a reight shovel this un), it's that worn its about a third of the size it was when new, meaning he has to shovel three times as much. .....and you lot reckon I'm the heathen lol
