  1. Stevie, those blades don't look any different from what yours normally do
  2. Yes, it's been a very rainy week
  3. Used the air mat again today to lift the container to level it, one side only had a 2 inch underneath. Used transportable tyre inflation and cordless battery to inflate it, used a bicycle pump but took too long
  4. It's week's like this where the challenge be homes a reality. I find that a good wide sturdy 3 bag wide foundation is essential, tapering off to two then one
  5. Irrelevant, they are bomb proof, literally...that's why the UN inspectors use them
  6. See what happens when Deano starts a trend, BMW have to jump on the band wagon http://www.bmw.co.uk/en/new-vehicles/bmw-i/i3/2013/start.html
  7. I gave £20k for my first Amazon with 180k on the clock
  8. I was having a chat to a business man the other day, he has been to quote a few manufacturing plants over in Germany this year. One thing he noticed and picked up on was the lack of helmets, hi-vis and other ppe. He asked the MD why ... Because we train our staff to a high standard, was his reply
  9. You seem to have a bee in your bonnet about the price tag. I don't mind paying for quality, I,ve had three Amazons and I,m getting another in the not too distant future. Price isn't an issue, quality is, the business buys the motor, not me.
  10. How many miles d,ya reckon you could put on your Chevy ? I hear 7.5 toners being mentioned and Chevys, the main reason I would be buying an L/C apart from reliability and robustness is for its size. It is a vehicle that could replace the defender in its abilities and size for getting up small narrow drives Chevys and 7.5 tonners are not really cut out for domestic work
  11. I'd charge £60 per hour for cutting loading delivering unloading etc, you should be somewhere around a worthwhile price then. It's not so much the price of the logs as much as the time involved sorting it
  12. Because you are buying a truck not a car, most pick up engines and gearboxes are not designed to do half a million miles Quality costs money I think false economy is buying a box full of electronics for £100k that breaks down all the time with a range rover badge stuck on the front and back and wing mirrors that cost £1600
  13. Cord / rings / split logs stacked outside will never dry to firewood acceptable moisture content. I stack cord / rings / outside for twelve to eighteen month to the end off summer before the rains start, then move it under cover. It dries fine, dependant on length and diameter of cord, some may need a little more time under cover
  14. My dogs are more intelligent than most humans. Last year a cyclist came through my cordon and went out the other side badly shaken and covered in bandages lucky to be alive, unfortunately that is the only way they will learn. Cost me about £2k and my insurance company a good deal more. BTW...contrary to popular belief, whatever you do, whatever measures you have in place, you will still be to blame to some degree. The courts just decide what percentage of the blame is attributed to you and what percentage to the injured party. I very nearly jacked it all in because of it
  15. There,ll nearly always be a little hole drilled in the side or somewhere to allow a minute amount of air in on a complete shutdown. Mine has two, one on either side. I couldn't always achieve an over night burn because I live ontop of a hill and the house is called "windy ridge" so the draw is sometimes really bad. I found that I'd I stick a small screw in one of the holes it works a treat and now I can achieve an over night burn no problem. My stove is now lit for five to six months solid
  16. View from my living room window Jon, it's pishing down
  17. Don't like curved blades, I like mini gobs and back cuts
  18. Ignore the Manc James There's a cobblers on the high street in brighouse mate, he said as long as there's enough rubber, he can resole them, cost me £20 At £240 a pair I want 20 years out of them Mozza
  19. They clean up well Tbh, whilst using them I always wonder how uncomfy it must be to be on the toe spikes for any length of time, you must have to have calf muscles like Arnie
  20. I know we are way off the op topic sorry... When gloves smell, it is bacteria that are causing the smell, same as your helmet sweat band, if it is not cleaned regularly you get zits on your forehead, gloves are the same, when they are smelly and well used, if you have any open wounds they will become red and inflamed caused by the bacteria
  21. Your buying the wrong ones then, loads on the bay, you just have to filter out the rubbish. Thorns are worse in winter after prolonged damp periods I think
  22. One thing I have noticed is the lack of dumped fridges and car wheels in the normal dumping areas, if there is anything ferrous or non ferrous dumped, it doesn't hang around long. We may now see an increase in fridges in the countryside
