  1. It's probably caught an infection from the bacteria leaping across from your gloves Seriously though, one thing that a lot of peeps don't realise is that gloves harvest bacteria, especially when we sweat a lot in the warmer months. If you then get a thorn jab it pierces through the bacteria and nicely infects the wound. Gloves should be changed regularly, especailly when they are only 70p a pair
  2. Forgot to say I got them resoled so hopefully get some more time out of them
  3. It's kind of like when you go out on the pish, some people have self control, know when to stop drinking and are aware of their surroundings and control their language and behaviour to suit. Some people are nice people but change after a few pints are quite funny but not offensive. Some people have no self control or respect for others and their enjoyment of the space or environment they occupy and need reminding every now and again Then there's absolute helmets that drunk or sober, have no self control or have had an up bringing that has taught them nothing more than how to be a Pratt and no amount of reminders will make a difference, they just need banning or taking to the vets
  4. Perhaps some forums attract more helmets than others
  5. All the above but don't give up your day job. It will take quite a few years to gain enough of a customer data base/ contract work / recommendations to be self sufficient. Personally I would set up as a side line and not try to rely on it for income
  6. Good move...my biggest tip would be to keep your overheads to a minimum, they will increase as and when your business needs to increase them, but let your business dictate that not you
  7. Emley moor mast, the 1266ft lattice metal tower was rebuilt from concrete after collapsing under the weight of ice and strong winds in 1969 Emley Moor transmitting station - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  8. I spent a little time in veliko tarnovo trying out the drinking holes, I could have been married 40 times over to some beautiful women, there are some absolute stunners there and all they want is a free pass to the uk
  9. I was looking for a straight jacket for my one year old granddaughter for the weekend, we are having her stop over...she's a little sod
  10. Just tie wrap the hands and feet, 20p
  11. Makes me want to dust off the Canon
  12. It wasn't a chipper Stevie, it was a log splitter in disguise, made to look like a chipper so the client doesn't think they were making extra dosh selling the logs, it puts them straight into the back of the truck unseen
  13. I thought that was your normal working speed Rab (-:
  14. I just feel that unless you employ a number of people who are experienced in different fields then it looks a bit jack of all trades. Tree work, dependant on how much you want to get into, is a lifetime of learning and even then you will not know everything Taking down and pruning trees is less than one percent of the job
  15. Oh...forgot to mention, the door pins are knackered and need replacing Oh yes...and I have also got another new engine under my bench just in case. As for Landrover enthusiasts, I have noticed other landrover owners waving at me, at first I thought there was something falling off my landrover and kept stopping to check. I then realised they wave because I am a landrover owner. I have come to the conclusion that if you willing own a defender just to drive about in and not use it for work, then you must be mentally ill and all these people waving at me are just that......obviously I don't wave back as that is only encouraging them (-:
  16. My defender is on 175k, it's had a new engine, gearbox, transfer box, discs all round, calipers all round, brake pipes, flexis, bushes, two alternators, brake servo, back diff, front axle, numerous track rod ends, ball joints, exhaust back boxes, just ordered both front swivel joints and seals and half shaft flanges. Blah blah blah
  17. Very few vehicles come even close to the amazon, there are very few motors you can put half a million miles on with no major parts needed I will get another soon
  18. That's the New v8 Bob We're on about the 4.2 the 100 model
  19. Just don't try taking it through a car wash, they don't fit
  20. I think they were 4 speed my previous was 98 and that was a bit thirsty like yours, I put that in for an 05 which was the 5 speed. Our lass thought it was a 3 ton go kart and use to throw it about whereas I drove it in a more stately manner
