  1. It is cross loaded if you choke the lanyard with the crab against your TIP.
  2. What size bar are you going to run?
  3. I think that original thread covers most points but I would like to say having played with det cord and PE to remove trees it is great fun! The video says 50m safety clearance, way to close!
  4. Lanyards yes but you mentioned double and single line. When do you ever use single line or for that matter double line like ddrt with a lanyard? I am not talking about clipping into the lower D's I mean hip thrusting old school on a hitch! If you use your lanyard single line you are probably cross loading your crab!
  5. I was referring to your comment on the hitch on 10mm line both ddrt and srt. For a lanyard I use Tachyon with my ART positioner.
  6. We had that situation yesterday, very interesting! The Ash had moved 4 poles without snapping the line and was partially resting in a Beech on the other side of the road. Amazing how much the span could take.
  7. If your using it as a second lifeline you have to ask yourself what minimum diameter would you use as your main line?
  8. Try a product called Ranapur, very good.
  9. Not thought of the DMM, but the price is hideous! £80 for a small one and £120 a large one. €28 for the spider! I suppose the DMM has more possibilities but at a price!
  10. I want one of the rigging spiders! Thinking of using it instead of a termination knot, it's rated at 50kn but what about the bend radius of the hitch? I am thinking it would be better than a termination knot. I think it has lots of possibilities!
  11. Having repatriated several close friends I can tell you Wooton Bassett is a special place! The whole town comes to a stand still and lines the high street, even the Kebab shop owners pay there respects along with hundreds. The single bell that tolls as the cortege passes makes the hairs stand up on your neck and brings a very big lump to the throat! Well done WB!
  12. Thanks! The power of Arbtalk!
  13. Not sure what these are, any ideas? They are on a False Acacia. Thanks!
  14. You could get a laser range finder for around £60-80, you would then have to work out the trigonometry though.
  15. its the same principle just a different design.
