  1. I would say that a good price range. I would need to see it for myself to go firm on a price though, there is always something to catch you out!
  2. Very tight drop zone! Maybe it could be speed lined over the sheds? A good days wages there.
  3. Nice video, what are the small pulleys your using?
  4. I think you can get it from B&Q but I can give you my mates number if you like?
  5. Got the carbon fibre Gekos with the buckles, spot on!
  6. That's a cool picture!
  7. I will try get some this week. The problem with using a hitch or a belay device like the Petzl ID is that you would have to tend it to lower the casualty. This is less than ideal if the casualty in unconscious and out on the tips. By not using a hitch means you can walk out to the casualty and still lower under control.
  8. I have a fig 8 that I girth hitch round the trunk, then insert your line and lock it off. I suppose you should back if up with a hitch.
  9. Why not for removals? I use it all the time.
  10. Spot on! I try to convince leave alone or fell!
  11. There is a product called Duracote and Cerakote. Both come in clear and even high gloss. They are very durable. I have one of my rifles and scopes done in Cerakote. They can be applied to most surfaces, I will ask my mate who is a specialist in the paints.
  12. Here is one I found, no link with the shop. http://www.outdoorkit.co.uk/product.php?product_id=6505 Mines bright orange and I can't remember the model but it kept me warm at the bottom of the Hindu Kush!
  13. Anjulak synthetic very good! Down is excellent but canoes mean water and down is crap when it's wet!
  14. If bling makes you more efficient and less tired then I'm all for it! I use SRT now and wouldn't go back, it's very efficient. Still have my ART stuff though!
  15. I have used Thompsons on boots and cloths, work very well!
  16. ATS used to do them, spot on, apart from the weight!
  17. So does a sling or a spliced rope.
  18. A bit too much tension. You should aim to just lift or hold it in that situation. I had a groundie do the same thing the other day with the GRCS when winching limbs up and over.
  19. The hitch would keep the tension on and would be the first to take the load then the chocked crab. This would be good apart from the crab where I would have a chocked sling or use s timber or girth hitch.
  20. To get the best out of the unicender you need to have it on a tether so it's away from you. It self tends like this,
  21. I should learn to type faster!
  22. I think you may need to contact your chosen crane company for a little advice. Arrange a site visit and probably get them to do the lift plan.
  23. Sorry for the derail!
  24. Would you tie of a section of a stem by chocking with a crab and adding a half hitch then drop the load?
