  1. Merlin malt 1 mtb built with afew extras, quality bike for the price and voted bike of the year several times by mbr magazine. Giant ocr2 road bike, searched all over for one of these, wanted an ocr1 but finances didnt allow, if i find some work back in yorkshire rather than london they might get some airing again. the big lad sadly passed away a year ago but gladly came along when out on mountain bike.
  2. Had an l200 warrior, it had similar issues with egr, they become porus and let exhaust gases back into the water circulation, which causes loss of power usually leading to whole load of issues with over heating etc, complicated engine set up really for bit of power u get, trade in and get a hilux better mpg reliable and slightly more power.
  3. Just after some pointers regards saws and mewps, when starting the saw aloft in the bucket can you start the saw inside the bucket or does it have to be held to the side of bucket and started.
  4. Titianium all the way with buck double strap pads, had load of knee trouble till somebody pointed me to these and never looked back:thumbup:
  5. Would you have a contact number you could give for there tree / estates be gratefully apprecieated
  6. After a bit of help were surveying the OHL for EDF in the area and I am trying to find a contact some body ie tree officer to define what is what and agee works:thumbup1:
  7. Not in our industry, but certainly in others and in various sporting activities etc.
  8. chinstrap has to be worn at all times on rail work, wether on the ground or elevated. personally i wear mine at all times and second nature now, been walloped on site before with no strap and helmet was flung off, if your using a four point attachment and not a crappy husqi elastic set up there will be no chance of strangle problem
  9. some place, they foiled us by getting a guy to walk past and start staring at our gear on site, prbs about 2min, he walked off james went to the van and diesel gone.
  10. We were working near tilbury docks a couple months ago, 4 jerry cans of diesel with us, you can see how close we were but they still managed to take it from site:confused1: it was stacked inbetween the trailor and pick up by the tow bar on work site side of trailor and pick up
  11. Is the yellow one a macullach by any chance
  12. Go for it, I went freelance 2yrs ago, fell lucky with a contractor on power lines which gave me chance to bring in the bread whilst building up other avenues which are now coming to fruitation. Dont get lazy though, keep looking for more work even if you are choker block. Pay your tax and NI on time, keep all paperwork receipts vans and tackle up to date. Good luck:thumbup1:
  13. Running a Hilux 2.5 HL2 model on 57 plate 120 bhp had ifor williams back on kitted with three mens climbing, saws and other general gear plus pulling a jenson tracked chipper, on average 380mls to a £98 pound tank of diesel now removed back of pick up, not towing and only myself in pick up, if I potter around on a roads and stick to 70 on m/ways get 500mls to £98 pounds worth diesel. only other pick up i have heard doing this is the izusu rodeo, but there like rocking horse muck to find
  14. Fujikura used to sell them so maybe sorbus do now, but I got one years ago from fuji
  15. I dont work for fountains mate, we subby to them, but how far do you go to keep gear safe these days, its going to get to the point were you will have to employ a person to stay on constant watch for your gear. we had five cans of diesel taken from between the hilux and trailer as seen in the pictures, we even stacked it so we could keep an eye on it, only after we relised it had gone did we realise that they had sent a decoy to stand and stare at the three of us working taking our view away from the fuel and bingo his marra must come past and gone with it.
  16. yep hitched to a motor, backed up against a wall under survielence cameras, the hotel has people in and out all nite on shift work. they smashed the window of the pickup wheeled it all forward, smashed trailor lock unhitched and awy
  17. you can do every thing possible but they are usually tooled up for any clamps or locks etc, we lost a tracked jenson and trailor with six saws last week at the ibis hotel in dartford:thumbdown:
  18. might just do:thumbup1:
  19. good luck john, myself and Mr Hilton are coming up on Saturday so we will offer our usual sarcasm and support:thumbup:
  20. We all work freelance for a company contracting to the blue machine, so the chipper is the companies, but still it kicks our work to a halt, the saws are our own and to replace, wouldnt mind but we have been working all the way through the travelling camps down here and apart from some diesel going nothing has been touched.
  21. We are working on the power lines for UKPN and were stopping at the Ibis Hotel near Dartford crossing in Grays on tuesday night, awoke on Wednesday morning to find we had one chipper less and six saws less. The saws are three MS200t all around a year old, Three MS341 saws two of which are approx 2months old. The chipper is a Jenson Tracked chipper on a flat tipping bed trailor similar to the ones fountain /tilhill use. there is also one sthil blower gone. If any anybody in this area is offered any cheap gear we would be grateful if you could let us know, the chipper is as good as new approx 6months old and saws are all in good order so were probably down about £27-30,000ish and the insurance arent looking promising due to not been in locked building etc. pm please if you here anything and a reward would be given if we get a substantial amount back ie chipper.
  22. Bought the car for the wife as a present but both enjoy the little thing for getting away from it all, and the karting is the closest I get to motorsport now since stopping rallying 10yrs ago
  23. A good friend has been going through the motions of stress due to marrige breakdown, money worries and now an evil divorce. He resorted to this chap Ajahn Brahm ( A Buddhist Monk) you can see him on youtube, if I new how to put up a link i would but if you put in a search you will find it. There is also a book of his called "Who ordered this truckload of dung". I had an incident a few months back at work which ultimately could of killed me and several fellow workers, struggled to sleep for weeks couldn't get back into the work and generally felt like jacking the trade altogether, but on reading this book and letting absorb in outlook on life is as fresh as when I first started out. hope this helps some who have posted on here, even i was quite skeptical about it but its not a load of brainwashed mumbo jumbo just some short stories that make your worrying and stressing in life seem absolutly pointless.
