  6. Cheers, i take it the £70 pound john is for the intial check if kit hasnt been marked or put on any sort of checklist before. how does it go if you inspect your own kit?
  7. Hi there We have several kits to inspect and two lowering kits, just wondering what people are paying for an inspection of a kit and what do you get for your money.
  8. At long last some common sense, and not dissing any thing you have posted mate, but even if you have ua tickets you still need to be rec approved plus the ua 2.1 2.2 and 2.3 have all had a right old shake up, if any body wants a copy sending thru along with ther new g55/2 "treeworks in proximity of overhead lines" then send a pm:thumbup1:
  9. And are those newbies or grunts going to get any better watching those sorts of antics:thumbdown: We all learn from each other as we go along day to day in work, and we abide by the guidlines and best practice set we should see a work force that is safe and proud to be apart of. 15yrs on powerlines around the country and pretty close calls in that time, but you learn and develop from those close calls and let otheres know, thats not for the bravado factor but to ensure they dont get into the same predicerment. if you have bounced live lines either hv or lv and you think it is ok because nothing happened you either have big balls or small mass of brain matter:confused1: If I went back to when I first started in line clearance it was pretty scary stuff, its now moved to a point were it is reconised by most as askilled job along side any other tree work and not just a dope on a rope or muppet in a mewp. Remove your blinkers my friend and help otheres and see the rewards in there skill develop in all parts of the industry, i like you couldnt be arsed at times with newbies or carreer changers but believe me theres nothing more fulfilling than helping somebody and watching there skill develop as they work along side you, end of the day that same person might just be the person god forbid who has perform an ariel rescue on you or sombody else.
  10. Well I was going to keep out of this, but you mate are an accident waiting to happen, every one from beginners fresh from college to the most experianced of experianced read the threads on this forum, your attitude and information regarding said subject will lead to only one outcome in the end, an accident. We all pass on info which we shouldnt and he/she would have to be whiter than white to say they havent, but look at this way if you pass on the rubbish in your post then the person passes on that to another and so on, sooner or later sombody will get burnt or worse a fatality will occur. Afag guides give you all the info you require and if your still unsure fone the relevant electric company, you might be able to bounce the wires or what ever other wild ideas you have, you may even clash the wires and still walk away unscathed, but be aware somebody with a life threatening condition could be requiring power to keep alive e.g. kidney dialisis or ventilator etc and if you were to take this power you could be putting them in grave danger of losing there life. And finally how you have the neck to say power line clearance cutters are bad with your past comments is beyond me RANT OVER!!!
  11. you are responsible, I worked for a guy many moons ago and he brought down the lv at a boarding school big style and he was held acccountable for the damage but his insurance payed out.

  21. After a bit of advice really, need to find a good reliable 4x4 for next month, we are freelancers on line clearance in the south but traveling each week from the north east. It has to tow a tracked chipper and house three climbers. just wondering who finds what the best and worst is in the market place:001_smile: we have been looking at the mitibushi l200 for life and nivara outlander around 06 or 07 reg
  22. Much appreciate any body who can point us in the right direction in regards getting rid of chip and core wood in the Pinner and Harrow area plus the south oxney area, we are clearing a 132kv tower line in the area.
  23. Wouldnt touch them with a barge pole, run huskys for past 10yrs, now starting to swap all i can afford to sthil. The 346 has these stupid c clips on the clutch which seem to snap on piece and as for the 357, onee that is over 6yrs old runs like a dream but another that is 2yrs old and hasnt seen any more that 6 months work has been a pig from day one, sthil is the way forward. Watch my arse get blown to bits now:001_tt2: Might no of some cheap sthils coming up in the next week or so
