  2. is that the sutton scotney near to winchester area or southhampton, we lived out of the travel lodge there and frequented the local taverner there about 9yrs ago with fountains on line clearance.
  3. Have a look in your private messages mate, he works direct for UU now.
  4. have you electrical arb tickets?
  5. and if you want something better than the NPTC then try NARC in Kendal, much better course, cheaper and covers more than just Arboricultural equipment, i have seen several guys go on the NPTC course and be failed on the stupidist things possible, i.e. new england rope with a bulge approx foot from whipped eye, he failed it becuase he couldnt determine what the issue with the bulge was, they then failed his assessment for been over cautious.
  6. Its the first year on its own under the Utility Arb Group, so needs all the support it can get. I have attended and competed from day one, and hats off to mr Hornby and the rest for bringing the dark side out and proving were not all hack and slash men. get your enteries in, forms are on the AA web site:hello:
  7. if you still don't mind the dark side, tilhill have the yedl and nedl line clearance in north and west yorkshire now, the yedl starts on the 1st of april, and were always after line inspectors for the same two areas for poletecs
  8. what did you call the other two with you was it gary and stuart, where are you moving in the north east
  9. do you remember any of this lot? Not the best pictures, but we were in london area on grid work then the railways when the foot and mouth attacked in 2001, all lived in a hotel first in Gatwick, then crawley, and then Maidstone bfore finally going to southampton for a 10month stint. I have aload of other photos from then but they need scanning before uploading on here.
  10. Is that the same ross who worked on national grid in the Bob Widd era
  11. sip, the dogs danglies, some would disagree but like climbing in slippers
  12. I have insuranc through them now, due to company i am with only pay stat sick pay. I used them years ago when I was a subby, the good thing is they cover you even if your involved in dangerous sports, they paid out when we wrote the rally car off in the 90s and i wrecked my back. Funny point though, I now do caving as a hobby and they cover that but they would'nt cover you if you were into rock climbing. Simple answer to the question first posted though, get some form of insurance if your sick pay wouldn't cover your bills, and cica are probably one of the better ones
  13. The scottish branch of the arb assocciation run something ever year along the same lines maybe you could combine it with them. Paul Hanson from Aboretum International usually organises it
  14. its in al buxtons van mate, dont worry about paying for the loler check straight away, i have not had chance to sort it on to a spread sheet yet. The sheet you sent i could'nt open, when i send it thru sort a load of logs and that will do. Hows it going up there now any better.

  21. Couldn't agee more, when at at the blue machine we took delivery of numerous 357xp husqies, out of say every 10 there were on average 5 picking up on the piston, as you say drop the exuast and have a look, all these were scored beyond useable again, usuall trait start and run but once warm didn't want to know. these problems were just as the 357 was coming onto the market
  22. Lazy Lad, Its a dog life
  23. Where roughly is the machine located, I understand you don't want to give exct location, but is it north east or north west by any chance, if it was maybe we could talk buisness
