  1. Mark It is on this clip... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhIKI0AhzIY&feature=related]SRT Tree Climbing - YouTube[/ame]
  2. It may have been posted before, but I enjoyed it anyway... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvtSnw7COCQ&feature=related]Tree dudes - YouTube[/ame]
  3. do you have any close up pics Kevin and do you reckon it could be easily made with tenex and splicing?
  4. Was the as ended just a krab and spliced hitch cord. Plus the footloop part?
  5. Saw this one on Facebook. Thought I'd share It here. http://zpks.com/flv/477474e49645aa63d933fb78df5ecf36/4f3c1dcc/3/1/31850/63754-480-ipod.mp4
  6. Awesome... cant wait for that one to be available.
  7. I agree with you there mate... Used to think Travis Rice was a bit of a pratt, if he followed sommeone down a run it was like a game he would always try oneupmanship, an extra 180 or grab or switch trick. All good for the progression of the sport though. I think it was him who snaked the fellas on Absinthe PoP for the first hit on Chads Gap. They were mighty miffed as he hadn't help build the ramp. After watching Thats it thats all, my mind changed thinking towards him. He is an awesome rider and he Art of Flight takes it to the next level. Cant wait for the tree shenanigans.
  8. WHen I work for LA we had Vermeer, almost certain we engaged at low revs. Most of the later machines had an electronic clutch though to engage.
  9. I would if the stress control is working/does this model have it? cant remember it has been a while since I fed one of those. I would also engage the flywheel at a lower engine speed, goes in much easier. Nice first chipper though.
  10. i used to work with a stone deaf climber... remember him Mike.?
  11. nice clip, just watched it on the Mac.
  12. Non Mobile mate.
  13. This one of the reasons I only do freelance work. Saves dealing with this kind of person. I can turn up to a company I climb for in whatever I choose. Some of their staff mate get a bit annoyed but that is there prOblem not mine.
  14. I tie mine to the toe hitch on my truck. Beat the crap out of it then get physical with a bina in the eye. Shock loading it like Drew mentioned. But I wrap a tea towel around the bina otherwise it feels like my fingers are about to snapp.
  15. Cheers for the info. As for your last comment, I don't believe anyone actually runs a saw full tit for that long. You would have to be cutting for double that time I reckon. FTR, I have ran in the last 3 of my saws by letting them idle on a couple of tanks of fuel.
  16. Beat the throat of the splice with a mallet to soften up as you trying to bury it. Might take quite a few goes but doable. Or Are you having a problem with the core bunching up as it reenters the cover? I put a couple of stitches in the crossover to avoid this.
  17. The whole running in thing... What is the dealers recommendations? I had friends when I was younger who were into and raced crossers. The opinion then on running them in was to ride it like you stole it! How would they be different from any 2 stroke saw?
  18. No David, I first looked at the tree in October IIRC, to look at removing with a crane for another contractor. The FB were present but in no where near as fine condition as the first pic. I presume he took the pic earlier (Sorry, I am not that much of a fungiphile). He did have a great interest in the tree and had been documenting its decline for the previous 2 years as he was scared it would land on his house.
  19. Day 2... One of the other guys went to finish off the job.
  20. A stone dead Beech with Merip. A couple of pics I received from a professional snapper who lived over the road.
  21. He was probably gutted as he had an L200 parked up around the back and as you drove down the drive he realised the error of his ways...
  22. Now that is the best advise. See how the grandad likes having an illegitimate grandchild! You all no the word I was wanting to use, but it'll probably be modded!
  23. Misunderstanding? Not really much to not understand about a CCJ is there? Follow the legal route. Bullies try it on in one form or another till someone fights back. Be it the school yard or in business, the outcome is usually the same. Punch and git on the nose - legally speaking of course. I hate the guy already and have never met him.
  24. Not sure if it will help with your situation directly, but recently we have been using ecoplugs for killing stumps. Glysophate injection that is friendly to wildlife etc. Drill the stump around the cambium, species dependent on the number of holes. Insert cap, hit with hammer. Quick, neat and the customers seem to like the 'Eco' idea.
  25. Cambium saver, and flipline/lanyard underneath it.
