  1. WOW, really! I bet you are a popular chap. Arses are for sitting on mate, not kissing!
  2. Another job, 200 year old property outside of Oslo.
  3. It wasn't too sappy Drew. Maybe due to the temps as it hasn't properly warmed up yet. I think the air temp was about 5.-7 degrees. I am sure the sap will start once it gets warmer.
  4. A couple of pics nicked from screeshots of a go pro vid I made. Double pine dismantle in Oslo. Stipped and topped the first tree on fence line, rigged the second in about 5 or 6 pieces as there was decking, sandpit and nice landscaping below.
  5. I get your point but I have always been on the understanding that rigging lines can be hand spliced. I splice my own gear and have never had any problems with LOLER. Plenty of companies provide riggin lines that have been spliced by hand.
  6. I think you would need to contact the rope manufacturers for a an accurate guide to becoming certified. Can you splice rigging ropes as the splice doesn't need to be certified?
  7. Charge as much as you can get mate. I turn up with climbing kit and a couple of saws. I charge the higher end of the rates in my area. If I take rigging kit then I charge more. Likewise if I bring an even bigger saw, more money goes on top.
  8. I spliced up a micro frog system with a krab to connect to the croll. I can use this SRT on an access line or remove the croll and clip it to the hitchclimber and rope wrench combo when I use my climbing line. Works for me.
  9. Bloody hell mate, lucky escape. Glad everyone walked away. All the best.
  10. Says vid is set to private mate. Lots of people rig the way you described. It works although it isn't best practice. Slings work a treat for knot less rigging.
  11. Thankfully my CB feels ok to date. Couple of fluffy bits due to snags and possible pantin and ascender combo but other than that going strong.
  12. Drew, care to expand on that? What problems have they had? Mine is ok to date. I have been told it get better as it fluffs up an bit and loses the newness.
  13. Good stuff.
  14. Looking and climbing are two different things! Have you had a climb on either? I have climbed on both and tbh prefer the CB. What diameter is the Kern? 11mm or 10.5?
  15. John, you still going to C & Cl? Mark, is your missus allowing you to go to C & Cl? Better be, I have booked my flights a day early to make it...
  16. Why not just use a low stretch Arb rope such as Cougar Blue.? Or have you already bought it? Great for SRT even better for Ddrt.
  17. Same principal as mine mate, just he has a soft link connected to 2 krabs. Presumably for the front d's on a TM harness.
  18. Here's one of mine. No children were hurt in the making of this film.
  19. I do exactly as Marc says. Except with a running bowline and RW. Easy bailout option on any sized stem. You can also offset it towards the other side of a stem if you need to lean around etc.
  20. Highams farm, Layhams road. Tip site is called Johnson's and is half way between Bromley and Croydon.
  21. Good work gand. Did it all go to plan?
  22. looking good
  23. I just use a standard DB splice, with no problems whatsoever. It was new rope though.
  24. I just wear mine and when they get mucky I stand in a puddle.
  25. Found one on Amazon and ordered with a few new mounts.
