  1. Very good post!!!!! Some very interesting points raised there!!!
  2. The haulage industry is very well represented by its trade body's, who lobby the government and stop restrictive legislation from stopping them for making a living. We have the AA who say "Oh thats a good idea, then our AAAC can do it and it will squeeze a few more or the little guys out of the market" It doesn't help that the powers that be ask the training providers whats best, there hardly going to say "no we don't need another ticket to teach, were run off our feet as it is, more work is the last thing we need!":sneaky2:
  3. No. I think its often possible to do a job for less and make more profit. If I do a job in one day, that another firm would take two days to do I can charge 10% less than them and still make much more profit
  4. So is that what a buggered engine looks like??????????
  5. I hate that!!!! I will park on double yellows, but never a disabled bay!!
  6. I would give them a saw with the new Stihl caps, if they can't do them first try!! "snip, snip!!!":sneaky2:
  7. Stevie you could ask Atlas if they would give you a 2tonne plate for it, you would obviously be restricted in how much you could carry. Then if you change your vehicle to one can tow more just put the old plate back on.
  8. :001_rolleyes:The are loose from each other thats how they work!!!!!! I really cannot believe this???
  9. By who?? Stilh?, God?, or evaluation?
  10. Not many, as in their country if they don't work they will starve!! The biggest problem with our country is not working is an option!!!
  11. IMO, the ability for the able bodied to sit at home and get money and their bills paid needs to STOP!!!!!!!!!
  12. Watching this has made me feel ashamed to be English:thumbdown:
  13. And we wonder why people in our profession are not always considered the sharpest tools in the box:001_rolleyes:
  14. If you don't locate the cap correctly and turn it, you will then have to turn the cap back to its original position before trying to locate it correctly again. I am truly amazed that some people cannot use these simple caps.
  15. In your pic's the top 2 are the same as each other, the next 2 just have the oil caps different to the other 2, but the same as each other, hardly a massive difference. I have had NO problem with these caps at all and love them!!!!!!!!!
  16. I sharpen mine with the flat file I use for my rakers, probably sharpen them once a year.
  17. I disagree, I think its better business if you can do the job for less than the other quotes, but make more profit, that way everyone wins
  18. :congrats: Spot on mate!!!!!!!!!! Reading this thread I just get sick of people bleating about other people, just concentrate on what you do and forget about what others are or aren't doing!!!
  19. The operator is the "no stress", a chipper needs automatic no stress as you want to walk away from it to get the next branch, with a grinder you are controlling it all the time.
  20. No, its just a mutated branch (some times called a sport) You get it on Cherry's and Birch a lot (some times called a witches broom)
