  1. No:blushing:, but I heard it on the radio, so it must be true
  2. When Mount Saint Helens blow in 1980 it released more carbon than every combustion engine that had ever been produced. And there have been many other volcanic irruption's in the last 10000 years. If I go walking in the Yorkshire dales, under my feet is limestone, that limestone is the skeletons of millions of sea creatures, those were tropical sea creatures, so many years ago it was much warmer round here and no doubt it will be warmer round here again one day, I just wish it would hurry up!!!! We are like ants on the bonnet of a car, the engine of the car has just started up and we in our hubris think we are responsible for the engine starting, but in reality the car engine starts at this time every morning, its just that we have been here for such a short time that we don't know that.
  3. But if its left it could rip right down the trunk, which IMO would ruin the tree, at least pollarding now would prevent further damage.
  4. I'd pollard it now, Willow are as tough as old boots, so chances are it will do OK and put on plenty of growth before the end of this season. There is always a slight chance you will kill it but 9 times out of 10 it will come back with vengeance.
  5. Good stuff!!! Thats really interesting and makes a lot of sense

  7. Spot on!!!!! Perfect combination
  8. My work boots get worn, that it, no cleaning, no polishing, life to short to waste time on such things
  9. They don't have the Gortex membrane through, dry feet makes life so much more pleasant, IMO.
  10. Haix protector pro's Great boots, must be on my 10th pair, like wearing my slippers to work and generally get 12 months out of a pair
  11. You can burn up to 10tons of green waste per day on the site where it was cut, so I can't really see what EA regs you could fall foul of.
  12. Since when????????????
  13. Its to pad out the report, so the poor punter feels they are getting a little more for their hard earned.

    Idea

The RW is not really a backup, it just spreads the load other wise the hitch will lock up. There is no friction in DRT if you us a rope guide, but it works better not worse.

  17. Oh dear, is it just me or do some people really need to get a life???????????
  18. Its your thread Adam and you can do as you wish, but I really think the point Rupe makes is a very good one. When learning something new you need the very basic principles of what your doing and most importantly why. Once you have covered the basic principles and methods you can then start introducing more equipment and explain why this equipment is better and how it improves the system. So far this thread is just looking like a catalogue for ropes a pulleys. Please don't take my post the wrong way, its just Rupe has made a very good point, but you seem to have missed it
