  1. My mog would easily fit where that landy is parked
  2. Oh please don't get me wrong, I believe the cuts are vital!!!! Its a bit like a surgeon removing your leg in an emergency without anaesthetic, the leg has gangrene and if not removed will kill you, but it hurts like hell just now!!!!!!!!!!! As you say Labour were bonkers!! Mr Brown and his claim to have done away with "boom and bust" how deluded, we were in the middle of the biggest boom the world has ever seen:001_rolleyes: And how they thought growing the public sector could help I really don't understand , thats like me finding my wage is not enough to cover our house hold budget, so I decide to employ my daughter so her wage will help pay the bills............................OH BUT where is her wage going to come from????????????????????? What really annoys me is that the powers that be want us to think this situation was out of their control and very complex, when in reality its very simple, we spent what we did not have and those near the top got very rich along the way, so are not affected by the hole we are know in.
  3. That simply isn't true, a great many people knew we were riding the largest bubble we had ever know and it had to come to an end. OK very few people knew exactly how it would end, but a great many of us knew it simple could not continue as it was. I had been asking for years where people thought all the money was coming from?? We had estate agents going into peoples homes and basically giving them suitcases of imaginary money, IE they would value some ones home at £100K more than they had paid, they would then go down the bank with that valuation and remortgage for an extra £50K, where had that £50K come from?? no one had earned it, no one had mined any gold, it was just made up. So it had to end, it could not go on for ever. Whats worrying me is the affect of government cuts, they seem to have really had a bad affect on the economy, but in fact only 12% of the cuts have be implemented, whats gonna happen when the other 88% start to come through??????
  4. I guess thats why girls tend not to work in the woods!!
  5. I disagree, I think without legs it would far too low.
  6. Its informative, I did know about periods attracting bears!!
  7. Where does one start...................
  8. Yes I look at jobs in the evening or Saturday mornings in the winter, my wage more than compensate for this, I would be bored witless not climbing through the week.
  9. Oh yes!!!! Nothing more frustrating than having to go and sort out a mess that staff have created or ringing the other team to see how they are doing only to be told they are still on the first job, they had been there 4 hours, it was a hedge cutting job I've done for years and I always did it in 1.5 hours The worst one was a council call out, I sent them to, windblown Oak blocking a drive, got a call from the other climber, "it was not doable, we need a crane" I got there and had the job finished in 4 hours with just a 66 and chipper.
  10. Most guy who run their own business do all that stuff in evenings and weekends, as I do now, leading one team, the extra paperwork required for a second team was what I did on the week day I was not on the tools.
  11. Does the building not fill up with fumes???????
  12. Saw you would only want a 201t to last 8 months???
  13. In all seriousness its not that easy to meet people these days, me and my Mrs met in church, well Kingdom Hall, we were both Jehovahs Witnesses,(both quit the JW's 12+years ago) we have been happily married for 22 years. But today people are involved in less community stuff like church etc, I think the net has a real part to pay in hooking people up, it really is a on line "community". As Steve says she's a bonny lass and there must be some unattached guys out there who would jump at the chance to get to know her. I wish her all the very best!!!
  14. True, but if peoples dept is less they will have more disposable to pay thee and me, I hope!!!
  15. Yes, which in real terms should help the recover, to some extent.
  16. Don't see how it makes any difference, the work done by two has to have the same worth regardless of wether one is the Co owner or not. IMO, if your sending out teams, you need at least two teams to bring in a wage for you as a boss/manager, when I ran two teams, I led one team 4 days per week and had another team working 5 days, I spent the 5th day sorting out the business side of things. But TBH I find I can make more with a 5th day on the tools than that extra team made me in 5 days, plus its so much less hassle.
  17. Yes, the pound in our pocket is not what it was
  18. I could be wrong, but I don't think the Bank of England will push up interest rates. The difference today is that personal borrowing rate are no were near base rate. The fact that mortgages are affordable is stopping this recession turning into a depression, IMO.
  19. I know what you meant mate, but it often takes cash to change direction, I guess its just a case of adapting as cheaply as possible .
