  1. For the best part of 20 years I've used a prussic and an 020. But recently I bought a SJ (after seeing vids on here) I really like it, its better than the prussic for some things, but not as good for others, but IMO the pro's way out weigh the con's, I think I'm converted. Then today I took my 201t into my dealer, as the AV mount had torn out of the plastic under the filter He offered to let me borrow a 540XP demo saw, he's very impressed. I've not used it properly yet, but I've cut a few logs with it and I have too say I'm very impressed seems very, very torquey and it sounds ace, the build quality seems excellent!!! He also lent me a 550XP, which also looks excellent!!!!!!! It looking like I'm going to be changing the shade of orange my saw come in
  2. None of my 4 children have ever "roamed the streets".
  3. I was going to say the very same mate!!!!!!!!!! Give the lad some money and let him enjoy his childhood!!!!!! My son is 16 he's just starting to work with me, he has never really done any work before this.
  4. My word what a miserable thread. I wish all the athletes, who have trained for years to be among the very best in the sport, the very best of luck, they won't all win a medal, but just reaching a standard that allows them to compete at this level is a tremendous achievement!!!! Their grandchildren will be very, very proud!!!
  5. This attitude really gets up my nose!!! Why do people think they have the right to almost demand logs or chip for free???????? I get sick of people stopping when we are working road side and asking for free timber, when I say no, they say things like "but I have a wood burner", "well so do I" is my reply. When you say no they look at you like you shot their dog. Why is it that people think we should give away something of value??????????? and in this case deliver it free!!!!!!!
  6. I most certainly am not "judging him"!!!!!!!!!! I am giving my opinion, based on the information we were given, YOU are the one who is reading more into the posts than is there.
  7. I drive past his van sales yard every day and have heard all sorts of things about him. Its rumoured that he made his money from selling drugs, but then people always make stuff up about those who are more successful than them. I was also told that he lands his helicopter at a local restaurant on a sunday afternoon so every one would see him, then fly home and come back in his Ferrari. So I did not really have a very high opinion of him, but then I heard him today on radio2 and he sounded like a really nice guy.
  8. I think you are missing the fact that the OP let the employer down, if I started a job for a client and left part way through and failed to complete the work agreed, I would expect no payment. You seem to think the OP had some terrible tragedy, where has he posted this??? He stated that "due to family circumstances", we have no idea what those circumstances were.
  9. Thats what I always did when I had one
  10. Yes and under those circumstances you would think stuff the job and stuff the money, thats fine, but you can't then once this has settled down think, "I'd like some money now":sneaky2:
  11. Hurahh!!!!!!! the jet stream is moving!!!!!!! So summer is back on!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Presumably its insured????????
  13. Friend of mine who was a sawing machine dealer bought a an old Singer of a young woman who was clearing her deceased fathers home. He removed the machine from the treadle table to get it into his van and found an envelop stuffed with cash, he took it back to the woman (although it was technically his, as he bought it with the machine) the woman broke down in tears, they knew her father had some savings (to pay for his funeral) but had looked allover the house, but had been unable to find it.
  14. I would say not, its a high speed PTO generally used for running hydraulic pumps for cranes.
  15. :congrats: Exactly, theft is theft regardless of where tools are left.
  16. REALLY!!!!!!!!! You fancy doing that??????????????????
  17. I find that very hard to believe, but would love the chance to find out, although its not going to happen
  18. Private school?????really, are your local comprehensives/grammars so bad??? We are fortunate to have outstanding local schools.
  19. An 070 or 090 would go on the rear nicely, it would want to be on a 4 leg subframe really. Its one of the larger chassis mogs, so quite wide, but the axels are much beefier, so take weight better. I'm sure the "no VAT" has got you all excited Jonny:lol:
  20. Well mines a 56 plate, had it from new and the hand brake works just fine
