  2. Post 4 BBC;South Yorkshire metal theft raids lead to 11 arrests - News - PoliceSpecials.com Forum
  3. Unless you are "of no fixed abode", i.e. a traveler, in which case you can be paid cash, as you may not have a bank account and to not offer you cash would be discrimination and possibly racist, apparently.
  4. I can see the sense in this, but it makes your gear look awful.
  5. Had some stuff go from my yard a few years back, so now have dogs and better locks. But this time it was on site while working in a large garden, it got to the stage now where if I'm not actually using a tool it getting locked down.

Regarding the choke, I was told to just flick the choke on then off when warm, don't pull it with the choke on, just flick it on then off, then pull, works well for me.
  8. I would not fancy knots, I use some dead eye slings, which are basically a length of rope with a spliced eye, I just timber hitch them on. They are real nice to use.
  9. Yes, I've felled a few, they are deciduous.
  10. You can legally burn on site, so long its been cut on the site your burning on. HOWEVER you cannot "cause a nuisance", so if a neighbour comes out and says your stinking out their washing on the line or the smoke is bother them in any other way you will soon get stopped, either by the council or plod.
  11. "Saw logs" are not for firewood. Plus I think its only the bark that does not burn.
  12. Would it not be worth going back and knocking another foot off?
  13. "Punch bark" was what my mate who had been to the States called them, you can hit one with your fist as hard as you like and you will not hurt your fist.
  14. I'm always keen to burn, we recently burned 100's of tonnes on a site clearance, but that does not look like the kind of site where burning would go down well. I recon the neighbours would soon have environmental health out to stop you.
  15. I think the only thing that been stollen is a picture of a grinder and the money of anyone fooling enough to pay without going to see and collect the machine.
  16. Are Wellingtonions not Sequoias that were planted to commemorate the battle of Waterloo??
  17. I would not want it next to my house.
  18. Its a Pop, thats what they do. Looks like decay from a previous shed branch. They are not great trees, IMO, and are very prone to dropping branches.
  19. Today I had a misery that turned to serendipity. The mog blow a hydraulic hose, spraying 10W's all over the road, not good Now for the last few weeks I've had an electrical fault on the mog, its been blowing fuses and various things have not been working correctly, I spent many hours digging around trying to find the short, but to no avail. So I got the hose off and sure enough the place where it had rubbed through it had also rubbed through the wiring!! So I have finally found the short!!! Got a new hose and fitted it, so down time was only about one hour.
  20. This has not been my recent experience, I had three saw stollen from site last week, OK they did not get there that day, but were there 10AM the following morning and seemed pretty keen to do what they could, wanting serial No's etc.
