  1. Nope, its advised that you do some form of refresher training every 3-5 years, this can be another ticket, but those tickets are still valid, they have no expiry date.
  2. I guess he hopes others will follow suit and stop this muppet from getting away with paying illegal rates!!
  3. How are tickets going to make the boss more money???? He's already letting him do the work without tickets, looks to me like he's just looking to work on the cheap
  4. I had cut the exact same section, after read the article, before reading your post WTF????? He started to cut the limb of the tree to which he was attached. However, while he was cutting away the section above his anchor points the whole limb collapsed and fell away from the trunk of the tree. Mr Hunt fell with the tree limb and the rope attaching him to the platform snapped.
  5. No, I think he's saying it will do the same job as a climber, IE destroy the tree from the top down. However, the machine takes up more room than the space needed in which to simply fell the tree, unlike a climber.
  6. Hardly, any tree you can put that machine next to can be felled
  7. Which tickets were they?? none of mine have expiry dates.
  8. This is why you never give daily or hourly rates, always a price for the job.
  9. "I thought it would have taken longer than that", as the begrudgingly hand over payment
  10. There is VAT on all clothing other than children's, hardly a luxury tax.
  11. TPO's are for trees that are considered to be threatened, hence yours being TPO'd and not others near by that are not "under threat". This is the reason many remove any trees near or on a development site before contacting the council. Once the council are aware a tree is "under threat" they have a duty to decide if it warrants protection or not.
  12. :001_rolleyes:Post No4. Redevelopment of the site
  13. Will he not simply say "I am truro tree surgery" ??? How can you claim the town name as your own???
  14. How would you then remove the plug at a later date if needed? as you will have drilled out the torque hole. Would it not be easier to simply drill a hole in the alloy gearbox itself and fit the nipple there?? much easier to drill than the steel plug.
  15. The majority of goods that are subject to VAT are none luxuries, why should our gear be any different?? Do you think taxi drivers consider fuel a luxury??????
  16. I would have thought traction would be the biggest issue off road.
  17. Have you registered your business name??
  18. Boots and helmets are exempt, but no other items, I'm not sure I get your point??
  19. Yes very sad, obviously not fitted with auto-fire extinguisher
  20. Never heard of them, where are they based?? Unusual name for a tree Co, is it a landscaping Co with a tree work division??
  21. Did anyone see the Mog on fire on Countryfile??
  22. Personally I would not want to go back to no grab, even for just arb work, loading is not a huge pain with slings (although it is a fair bit slower) but unloading a trailer with slings is a real pain, IME.
  23. A tractor with larger rear wheels will always be more capable off road, in effect the larger wheels make the mud less deep.
